Tennessee is practicing this weekend and most of next week after having the first several days of the week off, except for some lifts and voluntary work. Now that finals are over and students are off campus, Jones makes the next 10 days or so all about the football family as they will spend a lot of time together on and off the practice field. A season ago, players and coaches all said the month of December was big for their continued development of leadership and chemistry.

The Vols, as noted earlier this week, will report to Tampa on Dec. 26. Initially, Tennessee had planned to travel on Christmas Day but explored other options. The Vols will have a team Christmas party on Dec. 24 and are expected to practice Christmas Day as they work in the 15 allowed practices over the course of the bowl preparations.

As for bowl ticket sales, they have gone extremely well to the point that the Vols sold their first allotment, asked and received more sold those and have been trying to see if they can get more tickets from the Outback Bowl to sell.

I just checked on several sites and it appears the Citrus Bowl tickets aren't quite selling as fast as the Outback Bowl.

Slightly off topic, but relevant to the article.

I bought tickets on the northwestern side because they were a lot cheaper and to let the few NW fans know that I'm there. I'm going to get mid morning drunk and that has never went well for people around me.

I live in southern middle tn and have been wanting for years to go to a UT game but just havent had the time. I remenber as a youngon my grandparents would watch the games on the tube and listen to JW on the radio. Both are gone now but not forgotton. I work a full time factory job and do lawncare on the side. Tuesday night I decided I've waited long enough so I ordered my tickets and reserved my room. It aint Knoxville but at 42 yrs young I'm finally getting to watch my first UT game in person. Needless to say I'm beyond excited.

Interesting on Ticketmaster the cost is the same on either side of the field. And the ones I got from UT is the same cost as what Ticketmaster has.

There are still seats on the Tennessee side but very limited on the Northwestern side. Either Northwestern is bringing more folks or Tennessee fans have been buying tickets on the other side.
