out of nowhere: Jacob Carter

Why do people do this? Every spring (and NFL preseason) some scout team guy has a good game and people make them all world.

Guys are normally on scout team for a reason either they are projects or they have a fatal flaw that makes them bad for game time but good for scout team. I do not know if thats the case with this guy but neither do any of the guys going nuts over a stat line taken out of context in a scrimmage in early spring when the team has very few bodies.

Hey if the guy is still showing out come fall when red jerseys come off the injured guys and the freshmen report we might have a legitimate conversation here but right now it is just a random statline from a scrimmage.

Well said! :clapping:

he also had 4 catches in the first scrimmage and there is some thought being given to putting him on scholarship.

he's doing something right.i don't know if it will last but if he stays consistent give him a shot at the starters.

It's a positive, fun story. It's still Spring practice. He's a Tennessee kid. Plenty of reasons to have fun with the story. Takes a real party pooper to complain. :twocents:

Maybe we love seeing a underdog do some good things.

He did well in the first 2 scrimmages so we just want to see him against the D starters to see if he can keep it going.

If he keeps it going into the fall then maybe we got lucky and found a diamond in the rough and our WR depth just got even better which is a good thing.

It's a good dream to want every kid in Tennessee orange to quickly become SEC type starters because then we'll be a national powerhouse again and I think that's what we all want to see again.

VFL...GBO!!!

Some posters on VN have explosive message-board diarrhea. They can't control themselves. They crap in every thread, move on, and everyone else has to live with the smell.
