Wow....what a pathetic offensive staff and offensive system CBJ & Co. have developed for the talent coming into Knoxville....

Two weeks to recover, rest, re-group, and develop an aggressive game plan to run the ball against USCe and take advantage of their D (or lack thereof) with play action passes.

And what do we get....ANOTHER pathetic game plan that was actually worse than the plan we had against Vandy after an open week back in 2013.

I have NEVER liked CBJ's HUNH type of offense--but last year it did show some promise and was beginning to think it could actually work--ALBEIT with what I considered to be some necessary modifications and ADDITIONS.

I was even more encouraged by the Bowl game victory over Northwestern when we ran the ball out of the off-set I formation and ran some plays with Dobbs under center. But alas, NONE of that offense has showed up this year.

Muschamp had a beautifully designed Defense for our JR. High league game plan.....run blitzing in 2nd down situations and then dropping 8 in zone coverage on 3rd and long with a spy on Dobbs to make him ACTUALLY PLAY THE QB POSITION. They EXPECTED to force Dobbs into making some turnovers--and they got what they prepared to force!

What did we get--and what do we have?

1. LAY OFF of JALEN HURD!!!
I have a name for all of you who think it fitting to criticize him without cause--CHRIS LOFTON!!! Remember all the crap Lofton took in his Senior season when everyone found out later that he was trying to play after overcoming cancer....

Hurd is INJURED--and has chosen NOT to tell us the nature and extent of his injuries...He's not performing at the same level, but HE is still the STUD RB on this team....if you can't understand that then YOU ARE JUST STUPID!!!! And yes, I absolutely mean that.....STUPID!!!!!!

2. Josh Dobbs is a BRILLIANT and OUTSTANDING young man--but a TERRIBLE QB....He's an athlete playing QB--and his passing skills have NOT IMPROVED over his four years at UT. I honestly don't know why...but a large part of it has to be laid on the past and current offensive coaching staff....

3. Where was all of the Counter-Gap plays we ran early in the season and against VT?? This OL has consistently shown that it can be very effective when running a fold blocking/pulling trap blocking scheme....but also is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE in a zone blocking scheme.....

4. CBJ needs to SCRAP this offensive system or get an OC who can be consistent and actually develop a game plan that keeps SEC DC's guessing....because NO SEC DC is being fooled by this crap....except Chavis and Co. at aTm.

We scored 14 offensive points tonight....and 1 KO return for a TD...

When Muschamp and Co. can shut you down after our Offensive staff has had 2 weeks to prepare for one of the WORST DEFENSES in the SEC--YOU'RE pretty much exposed....

5. USCe scored 14 points off of OUR turnovers tonight....so, other than one really bad blown coverage in the secondary--our Defense played well enough to win....

We don't need 10+ WRs to run an offensive scheme when we only have 2 or 3 who are genuine threats in the SEC...Jennings is a Beast...Byrd is astounding as a FR, and you just never know which Malone is gonna show up---the one with panties, or the one who wants to play FB....

It is true that our injuries are serious and a genuine reality....but even so--we have enough talent on the field--even when forced to play banged up--to be at least 2 TDs better than that USCe team....

I'm having flashbacks to the 2014 Fla game Muschamp coached against us......:shakehead::rolleyes::yuck:

Ditto to all things you wrote. We are better under Jones, but not on the level with any team in the west, except Miss State. If we played in the West, we would win 2 games a year. The chasm between east and west is deep and depressing. This year was a gift to win the east and Botch Jones lived up ( or down) to his nickname. What a lost opportunity ! It make me sick.

Muschamp is a good DEFENSIVE coach--that's always been his thing, and he out-coaches our offensive coordinator. He out-coached DeBord tonight. You can't be predictable in this game, unless you've got great players throughout a unit, and we are too predictable--especially with our offensive line.
