Our WRs

Saw glimpses of Malone progressing last year. He was the leading WR in a plurality or even majority of our games last year. I think our horrific passing offense last year aided in stunting his development. It's great to see us finally taking shots now and letting the kid play. I think he's a special talent who could be among our best WRs in program history, especially if he's here all 4 years.

He got the only long passing touchdown last year. Now he gets one nearly every week.

Seem to be coming along and developing into what we need.

Malone is a legit threat that has to be accounted for on every play now.

Jennings is going to catch anything thrown his way.

Bird...my goodness how good that kid can be.

Williams and Smith may not get another start from those three. Competition is beautiful and hopefully those 5 continue to get better and better.

So true...good post!

The guys that want to....will!!

3 quiet, humble guys that do their thing...

I stand corrected on that, but still correct on the general point. 2 catches for 8 yards in 3 games in his 4th year. I like Josh and appreciate him, but I think most everybody can see that Byrd needs more snaps, more targets and a higher spot on the depth chart...he's simply a more dynamic, sudden athlete.

Btw, here's why I didn't think Smith had a catch Saturday, because I sure didn't recall him catching anything in the game....didn't know who "J. Walker S" is

Agree. I love what Smith brings with experience and maturity, but it seems that Byrd is almost as mature and abundantly more talented...get this kid the ball more...

Haha! That's why I posted it. Confused me too. I was watching the game again and saw he made a catch. Thought I had missed it in the stat line too.

Lol. That was weird.

I sincerely hope Smith can pick it up, find a way to catch 2 or 3 balls and contribute. He's made some big catches for us, especially 3 or 4 big ones last year. But Byrd just oozes talent with the ball on his hands IMO and I'm ready to see him get as many opportunities as possible.
