I'll say it again, Nationals, glad you remaining fans could hold tight. With exceptions of UT Martin and UAB, we have been extremely out-manned in all of our games this season, and we are off to that 2-6 start so many analysts have predicted. Don't be surprised, it's just where we are. Today is a good example, the boys went at it with their all for the most part, made some plays here and there, and got beat for absolutely no other reason than their offensive play makers were far better than our defense. Deep down we all knew that Lattimore would be hard to stop, and that Alshon would break a big catch or two for a TD, and it happened.

We've got four winnable games on the schedule. The mission for Dooley is simple: 3-1. Now is the time he can prove his worth as this teams leader. Don't worry about what Ole Miss did to us last year, don't worry about the win streak over Kentucky (but for the love of all that is holy, please don't lose to Memphis). If we can close out the season 3-1 or 4-0, things are definitely going in the right direction.

If that happens, he will have taken Tennessee's worst team ever, and avoided having Tennessee's worst season ever. It doesn't mean I believe he is the guy to return us to prominence, but given the situation, its a good start.

Bray can lead us to 6 wins.

If he does, Dooley has to be viewed as doing an amazing job with a team that has no center, no left tackle and 1 DT.

The OP is absolutely right. There have been a couple of hiccups along the way (13-gate stands out) which has gotten everyone's dander up at times. But the season really starts now.

At first, I thought 4 - 0 was the only thing acceptable for this run. However, 3 - 1 will be a fantastic accomplishment. This team should be remembered by how they perform in the next four games.

Sorry brother, I get what your saying, but our season started Sept. 4th and we've lost 6 games since then...

Ah screw it. I hope your right. Go VOLS!

No more games outside of the state of Tennessee. VOL fans across the state let's get em to the Music city or Pizza bowl!!!!

2-2..Hard as it is to believe, Kentucky outmans us this year and so does Ole Miss. Could we expect to win at least one of those games? Yes, But we could also lose to both teams and Vandy. Our talent/inexperience is about equal to Vandy this year. There should be no way we lose to Memphis. 3-1 is doable but we shouldn't expect it.

Kentucky has reverted back to their true selves.
They can't stop the run.
they'll lose tonite at Miss State.

Kentucky and Ole Miss are more talented than we are, but not in the same way that Alabama, Oregon, or even Florida, Georgia or South Carolina are.

I like this thread. I feel like the team needs our support now more than ever. Let us stand with this team to some November SEC wins and start the off season rabble rabble.

No, many picked us to start 2-6. We've won the games we were supposed to win, and lost the ones we were supposed to lose.

It was readily apparent to those with any sense that our record would be what it is after the UAB game.

It could be argued that this kind of post might be appropriate before the Georgia game, but that's only because of how down Georgia was before they played us. Even though I didn't predict a 2-6 start (3-5 with an upset win over LSU. So close), I find it hard to deny that the first eight games and the last four are almost like two different seasons.
