It is a bitter memory but we all recall how our receivers were running wide open through much of the game last year against Pitt. That was kind of the moment that Heupel's offense started to get some real attention around college football. So, the question is: do you think our receivers will abuse Pitt again? or will Narscuzzi & Co. be able to make the right adjustments? Discuss. GBO

If I’m Narduzzi, I dare TN’s OL to beat me with the run game given Pitt’s depth on the DL (despite Pitt’s struggles against the run last week). My focus is on taking away Tillman and challenging the other receivers to make plays because they are unproven and Velus is gone. I think they’ll be pretty aggressive and confident in their ability to get pressure on HH5 all day

Last year, the offense was playing with a limited playbook. Pitt's defense will face a whole different offense. Plus we have more weapons this season. Should be fun to watch. I expect Hooker to face a lot of pressure, but he has a quick release. My fear is a cheap shot on Hooker. Pitt's defense did that a lot against WVU.

Quick throws are key in my opinion. If the Oline can keep the rush from getting to Hooker, the long passing game should be available. Saw where Pitt's coach kinda laid out the defensive scheme on how to slow Tennessee down. One thing to scheme, something else entirely to put it into action.

Most expect Narduzzi to be stubbornly "who he is". He wants to stop the run and will put guys in the box to do it. He wants to pressure the QB and only got to the QB last week by blitzing late in the game when WVU was in hurry up.

If he plays like Ball State trying to keep everything in front... bend don't break... then he'll surprise most everyone. UT should get a LOT more man coverage this week than last.

Start with the passing game to open up the run game. That's what I'd do as an armchair QB.

That was Spurrier's O game plan when he came to FL. At that time I think it was a bit radical as it had always been taught you set up the pass with the run. Worked pretty well for him. Not that he wouldn't do it but he even distained kicking FG's as he always believed he could call a TD play. Different guy for sure.

Pitt has coached against Heupel's offense a few times before. Heupel out schemes them basically every time.

We play just like we did last year, except Hooker is accurate, and we're up 21-0 in a flash.

I think our receivers will be open on most pass plays. The question is whether the ball comes out of Hooker hand before the DL for Pitt gets to him.

This is the Q! Out OL has a great opportunity to come out and show the world who they are. If so, this is gonna be a long day for Pitt. If not, watch out.
Glad HH has wheels.

It’s going to be interesting. The more Tillman gets doubled I’d think Bru gets a ton or targets. If they dare us to run and don’t respect it, I think we’ll make them pay.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if pitt did that and Milton came in and won the game and proceeded to lead the Vols to a 10-2 season? Crazier things have happened.

There is no doubt about this. They did it to everyone they played the last half of the season. Remember Satin throwing headsets? They scheme better than any staff I have watched closely. So, the only question mark is can the QB get them the ball and can they catch it. They will be open.

We have even more capable receivers this year and we have just too many of them. If they double up on any one of them, we’ve got others just as good and ready to make them pay

I think everyone is forgetting Hyatt. Yes Tillman will receive doubles I would assume. But Jalin torched them last season and just didnt come up with the ball. He seemed ro have corrected that flaw. I could see Jalin having a huge game. We have weapons at disposal for Heupel. SPEED and Huge guys like Tillman who can also take the top off and then there is BRU.... This guy is a little unproven yet..... However he could feast on 5'9 DB's

Kind of crazy to think Cedric Tillman only had 1 catch for 20 yards that game. I expect Pitt fans will be dreading his name by this time tomorrow..
