Our QB played well

Two years after the worst season in UT history... with a common denominator pulling the trigger on every offensive play.

Yes I've said this same point MULTIPLE TIMES. You've even responded to them in the past.

WTH SJ????

Clearly, have that discussion and then have the discussion about him entering the transfer portal.

Sorry, maybe I hung up too fast. But I'm listening and reading....;)

I thought it was a known thing that I was Brian Maurer's biggest fan lol.

I guess not. People just kept going with this thread hahah.

Anybody with eyes can tell JG ain't a QB.

With the QB position it has to go beyond the stats. A good QB is also a field general. He makes others around him better. He's a leader. JG possesses none of that. He's just a dude out there running around with the ball. He is not the recognized leader of that offense like he should be.

Having said that, while JG didn't have a very good game we didn't lose because of him either. We lost because there is an epidemic failure in this program to understand the importance of winning and what it takes to win. That lack of understanding permeates throughout all facets of the team that has nothing to do with talent. It's a lack of leadership, a lack of focus, a lack of want to, etc. I dont know what it will take to fix this. That's what they are paying Pruitt 5 million a year to figure out but he'd damn well better figure it out quick, fast, and in a hurry.

He put up 311 yards and 2 TDs.
One in the beginning. One at the end. That's called playing a complete game.

He was engaged all game long. He missed some throws but what can you can expect with such a strong arm?

He checked down a lot because it was the closest eligible receiver, and he has faith in all his teammates!

For those of you complaining about him sliding too early...if he gets hurt... who's going to play QB? He wasn't thinking about himself. He was thinking about his TEAM.

This is JGs team! For two more years! That's a lot of opportunities to get better.

GO VOLS!

At 1st I thought you were a Georgia State fan...

Dripping with sarcasm. He didn’t play well, at all.

A lot of blood in the water right now... hard to remember who said what or stood where.... but I was pretty much just building on your point.

Here is what got me this morning. SJT18, responded to my op in a serious fashion.

That dude many many times has responded to my threads about how awful JG had played. And he never would agree so much. But he would always take his own little slant with basically saying the same I did, haha.

He's also responded to the Harrison Bailey thread and how I feel if Maurer ever got to play then Bailey might not come here.

He wasn't trolling either. He was legitimately trying to make a case against me 😂. Unbelievable...

You my friend are one dumb individual (or are jg or a family member). Jg is one of the worst QBs we’ve ever had. And he’s been given 3 years now to start. Some guys are just given so many opportunities it’s unbelievable. That’s him. The only real competition he ever had was with dormady and dormady won. Jg doesn’t understand the game. He throws and slides short of the sticks on important 3rd downs. He stares down receivers. He never takes shots downfield even when they are set up well for him.

No he is not.

Guys this was a troll thread.

I have been advocating for Brian Maurer since December! I spent all Saturday doing the same. Just thought I would have a little fun last night when I made the this thread.
The spirit of this thread went over some heads.

Nah man. Jarrett wouldn't waste time on a message board. That dude is all about being QB. He's dialed in.

311 and 2 scores ain't nothing to sneeze at ✔️
i almost hit like on this post.....but then i realized you was serious?!?!?!

Sorry LV, guess I was one of the few who didn't know. That said I wish JG would have given me cause to heap praise. So far, no go on that end.

What you read and hear about in the media is a coaching strategy. … Kind of brilliant for a defensive minded HC if you think about it.
Nothing brilliant about losing your opening game at home against a bottom feeder. A real problem now is, we are below that bottom feeder at this point in time.
His stats were much better than Trevor Lawrence’s.
But; not the one stat that counts above all the others.

First-ever post to say, thank you, LV—the humor has been detected and is greatly appreciated. You’d think “One [TD pass] in the beginning. One at the end. That’s called playing a complete game” would be enough to tip one’s hand.😂
