I was talking about football and him selling that theyre not the "same ol vandy", but they are. Their education has always been top notch, it hasnt stopped them from sucking for 100 years in football though
I would rather see and hear that Dooley has the Vols helping with habitat and visiting Children's Hospital turning these young men into community leaders and representing the University of Tennessee as leaders. CDD should not be on twitter talking smack or trying to create a buzz around a historic program every program goes through what UT is going through CDD walked in to a program in disarray and has coaches that want to be at UT now I don't think the coaches that left wanted to be their or they would have stayed and fought to the end CDD needs time and Patience from the fan base you are not going to rebuild in three years how long did it take bama to get back to where they are now we as fans need to support our team and coaches not tear them down every chances we get Go Vols
Compare JF's recruiting careeer to CDD's. There is no comparison. JF is the one who should be taking notes in that area. Me and people like me are turned off by the used car salesman pitch JF brings and Im sure word will soon be out.
If we were Vandy we'd be just as excited about a six win season and a lot of close losses. We're Tennessee. We don't scream and tweet star power after a six win season, much less a five. I say let them work, and we'll know all we need to know by week five.
We will recruit based on facts. Not based on hype.
Fact #1.) We are historically one of the most prestigious and successfull football programs in the country and we WILL be again!
Fact #2.) We have some of the finest facilities in the country, including a brand new state of the art training facility and a beautifully rennovated 100,000 + seat stadium!
Fact #3.) We have one of the best, most rabid fan bases you can find anywhere in the country!
Fact # 4.) We have a terrific staff of coaches and trainers that will make these players the best they can be and put them in the best possible position to prepare them to get to the NFL.
Fact #5.) We have the VFL program that serves as an excellent tool to prepare these young men for life beyond football.
And I am sure there are countless other tangibles and intangibles that our staff uses to sell our program to recruits.
Thanks for proving my point for me. I disagree with none of that. Which begs the question: why is our recruiting on par or just slightly better than Vandy's? Answer: Because Franklin knows how to sell his product.
I dont like Franklin for the record, just saying u must have forgot how close we were to 4 and 8..as a vol fan that i am, that's not good enough. And dooley was braging about a game he one on a messed up ref call..
Yes ,with his team in the locker room after a win in overtime. That video was never suppose to get out or be filmed. He had to explain himself for being glad they got a win because of it. That is the difference here. You are saying he was happy about his 5th win , but he isn't running his mouth on a social media and the radio saying what a great staff and how awesome the things are. Franklin and Vandy better enjoy it now , because this season will bring him back down to Earth. How sad is that? That season made them feel so great about themselves. What we think of as an awful season , is a success for them. There is the difference between Vandy and Tennessee.
That fact that the last video we saw singing that song was after we defeated Alabama, and Dooley revives it after taking OT to defeat Vandy at home, is a pretty good indicator of where the program is right now under Dooley.
They did what any team does after a win. Considering we weren't favored , injured and won it in overtime , I'm surprised this has to be explained to you. Go think of some more stuff to spin and ***** about.
When I first saw the video, I was like...
Then I thought about it for a few days and was like....
Then I realized we replaced Alabama with Vandy in that song, and was like.....
:banghead2:
They do?? First I have heard of it. Anyone else know if they do??
Still though, seems bittersweet to think that we used to sing that song after beating teams like Bama and Florida, and now are just reduced to singing it to beating a team like Vandy at home in OT.
You know, you're right. A surefire way to mark a program as being on the rise is how they use social media to promote their press conferences AT THE BARNES & NOBLE.
Hell, I bet they had Garrison Keillor there doing a signing. Must have been awesome. I have to follow that guy.
Oh wait, I meant to say...
FAIL.
