Butch has had no O-line production for 5 years. Where is the development? I feel bad for John Kelly. He is such a talented back and yet he can't get good blocking. Quarterback has no time to throw the ball either. This is the main issue with this boring offensive. It could be somewhat boring (not my preference) if your line could block. Imagine what we could do with a good line and some innovation.

It's not just the o-line. The entire team has lacked any discernible development, other than getting worse. We look worse in year 5 than we did in year 3. It's pathetic.

Has to be scheme and OL development. We aren't Bama, but we've got upper tier talent on OL...just as DL which hasn't performed at elevated expectation. One of the reasons for optimism in preseason on offense was the thought we'd have great OL play, setting the table for great running game, and new QB wouldn't have to put it all on their shoulders.

Jones thinks Kendrick can play RT....Everyone knows he cant handle a blitz or a speed rusher.. He is the same player for 3 years...
Coleman Thomas- Weak Cant handle a true NG.. Get Manhandled all game and left a LB from 20 yards come in untouched right by him and crushes our QB...

OL is critical in this league and Jones hires a complete nobody.. BRILLANT

I'm pretty sure Butch said during the off season that he was going to let them play 7-on-7.

Don't think Butch understood exactly what they were wanting.

Everyone was excited about the Wells hire. I am convinced it is scheme. The lineman don't fire out...they more or less get in the way...impede the progress of the Defense. This is not an attacking offense...football was not meant to be played like this.

Just points to an overall lack of development. We 100+stars worth of offensive line talent and they're arguably the worst position group on the team. If nothing changes, John Kelly should go pro. I'm sure evaluators have enough film on him to know that he's an NFL quality talent.

5 guys blocking 8 guys all game long would make any offensive line look bad. It all goes back to the crappy system that we run.

I think a lot of it has to do with the constant shifting of players on the line. While it's good to be familiar with another position, it hurts consistency and development, in my opinion.

You can rush 3 men and get to our quarterback. Teams are not blitzing like you think. Most of the time man to man with press coverage on the receivers is enough to whoop our line and blow up the play.

JG was sacked on a specific play yesterday where they blitzed one guy. Instead of picking him up the OG doubled the end which left a nose tackle on our center. He had a clear path to JG. They play stupid football.

Johnson looked good yesterday. Too bad he will get worse if Jones stays. Thought Johnson looked much better that Robertson.

Agreed 100%!! We have 4 & 5 star talent throughout this OL yet we seem to get worse and worse the more experienced we get. The common denominator every year is Butch and his complex, ineffective scheme. I just sat here and watched Kamara show out against a pretty decent and certainly better than he played against in college and think what could've been. It's a shame and it's costing many of these boys millions, costing the program wins and future stud recruits and costing us fans hundreds each time we come to see our beloved Vols. It's not the kids fault and they deserve better! Tennessee recruits itself so I'm sick of hearing what a good recruiter Butch is. The longer we wait, the more studs we're gonna lose. Even 17 and 18 year are not blind or deaf, they see and hear what a joke we have become and will jump ship in a second the longer Butch sticks around. Sorry boys but I refuse to spend another dime until this administration shows me they are serious about winning and hire someone capable of developing the talent we have and future talent we can easily get and win with it. We are The University of Tennessee a top ten program with top ten talent. Enough with the bargain basement "up and comers" it's way past time to hire a proven power 5 or NFL winner. Surely Currie sees the potential and potential coaches do as well, we don't have to settle for someone you have to Google to learn who they are. It's an attractive job,we just need to finally bite the bullet and pony up.

Pretty sure the LB blitz for sack was on the RG

Guarantano had a lot of time on some plays, considering we were playing Bama, but we could never get a receiver open. Our WR's are worse than the Oline, and Guarantano is going to have to learn to dump the ball much more instinctively. Tyler Bray was a master at that. You couldn't sack him.
