Our O-Line Looks Really Good

My biggest takeaway from yesterday is how well our O-Line played. I had a good feeling about them coming into the season and they've exceeded my expectations. We were able to run when we needed and best of all they gave Joey a clean pocket all game. UGA is the best front 7 we will face this season and the more they play the better they will gel. If they stay healthy our offense can be 2022 elite. I didn't expect them to control the line of scrimmage the way they did

Yes, they are definitely making progress in the OL. Very good game by them.

I noticed this as well. Ball was floating back at times. Threw timing off a few plays. Other plays we worked through it. Need to get it back there quicker.
Also he got that weird call for moving the ball it was almost like a ghost penalty because all centers move the ball a bit when they engage it for a snap. That penalty put us behind the chains. UGA was getting timely penalties that helped their cause.

Truth be told I don't recall JG being sacked the whole game. I may have missed one. If that's the case elite they are and better than last year an upgrade. Here's an assistant coach that needs a bump.

Honestly it was pretty impressive. It was one of my big concerns going into the game They just didn't materialize. It sure helps that Joey is as much smarter quarterback than what we just had and knows how to move into the open space and get rid of the ball when he needs to. Georgia's freaking stacked with athletes in the front seven, so to go an entire game putting up big numbers in the passing game with no sacks is unreal.

We’re good, better than I expected thus far. But I still see us possibly having 3-4 more losses…AL, FL, and either Ms. St or Arkansas or both. Surely hope I’m wrong.

Just imagine when we get David Sanders back. How about getting healthy on defense too? It is looking up.
It's honestly going to be hard to push Perry out of the starting gig. He's been terrific so far. Sanders will have to bring his A game if he wants to start. Stars don't matter once you get on campus.

OL play has been very good. Coach E is very good teacher and you see that when he has talent to coach. OL play is still most difficult position other than QB to Play especially in great Conference. Watching NFL yesterday and last night you see the difficulty of playing OL against big strong Athletic Dudes. Not easy

Sanders NIL should be based on games played instead of just showing up in an orange jersey.

OL proved solid enough for Aguilar to run the offense and make throws and for receivers to go make plays. Against what’s typically one of the elite defenses in college football. For perspective, here’s every game Georgia has allowed 5 offensive TDs in, in regulation, since Kirby got there:

2025 Tennessee
2024 Alabama
2022 OSU
2020 Alabama
2020 Florida
2017 Oklahoma
2016 Ole Miss

We’re not on that list with Aguilar running for his life or on his back. We had time to make some throws and to put up some 50/50 balls and sincerely pick on Georgia’s secondary a few times. How often does anybody say that?

It’s amazing to me that we are seeing this without the best 5 (according to our coaches) on the field…this is no knock on the starting 5 we have…they have done great…but if the best 5 really is Sanders at RT and Perry at guard then imagine what will happen when Sanders is full go

Good, yes. I don’t know about elite. We didn’t seem to be able to run as well as I hoped. Got to stop the false starts which are inexcusable especially the one at the end of regulation.
I agree but on the other hand JA nearly threw for 400 and 4TD's. Kirby made his living dealing with secondaries. The fact that we did it to his secondary, even in a loss was amazing. There are not many QB's that would survive a game vs UGA throwing it like that. I dont want to call the OL elite but they are very good and trending towards elite by yhe end of the year

Well, to be fair, I don't think we were entirely committed to the run. I think Kirby's game plan was to stop the run and Heupel came out with Aguilar slinging it. When you throw for 371, only rushing for 125 is hard to complain about. Also, this was still a Georgia defense that is loaded with elite DL and LBs. I thought our OL played about as good as anyone could ever expect an OL to play against Georgia outside the very untimely false start at the end.

What is so good about it is they will continue to get better and better as the season moves along and Sanders gets on

Yes, if you noticed the narrative went from he's not healthy enough to go to now he's got to have time to build his strength up to play. I don't care why he's not playing TBH. As long as the OL looks as good as it has, why complain?
