So why do people get b****ing about it on here?

When Florida got pressure on the QB, it was because they overloaded with 7+ people rushing the line. And we still did a reasonably good job stopping the blitz. Our run game put up an amazing amount of yards, partly because the O-line.

Against GT, our O-line manhandled GT's D-line. GT brought pressure multiple times and was completely stopped in their tracks almost every single time. There were a few slip-ups in the 1st Quarter, but the O-line was elite after that.

If you check out the NCAA stats, we actually have one of the best O-lines in the country when it comes to sacks allowed. We've only given up 2 sacks in 3 games. That's better than Alabama even though Bama has only played 1 meaningful opponent and we've played 2.

Our coaches did a poor job against Florida, but sometimes I think people are just throwing darts with their criticisms. We lost to Florida, because our coaches (particularly on the offensive side) seem completely incapable of playing to our strengths. It was not because the O-line (except to the extent that the O-line had too many penalties; which once again goes back to coaching).

Blame Larry Scott. Blame Butch Jones. Blame the guy who didn't have enough faith in his O-line and John Kelly to run it on 1st and Goal from the 1. Don't blame the O-line for that loss.

O line is okay, running backs are pretty good too. We should be awesome in short yardage situation. Someone should tell our coach that just in case we get in that situation

OUR RT is not good. Our future competition will continue to put their pass rusher and blitz on that side

Jack Jones was manhandled by the Gators DT...Smith played much better but also got beat a few times - not bad for a freshman...

I agree, it never once crossed my mind to blame the O-line for stupid coaching decisions.O-line was doing their job, its just the people getting paid wasn't doing theirs.

Everyone was really concerned that with Dobbs gone the offense wouldn't be good because Dormady couldn't bail out the OL... I made a similar thread. Truth is, Dormady improving is the only thing keeping this offense from being top 3 in the conference, regardless of how dumb the coaches are in key situations.
Its also Larry Scotts 3rd game as OC. Yeah he was retarded to not run the ball, but I will cut him a little slack. A lot of good playxalling so far, minus a few series. I think he will improve... Hopefully Dormady will or JG will be good... Butch is still the biggest problem.

Four of UT's starting OL's are very good and one guy is the weak link. The OT's IMO are playing pretty well though Kendrick still gets bullied once in a while. Smith is very good. Robertson is very good...

You should be able to figure out the weak link from there.

Not that it matter to folks like you but Kendrick was rated all sec by pro football focus for game one as one of the best 2 tackles that week and he and Robertson have been 1-2 in every game this year. It’s a toss up now as to who the best OL is between him and Robertson with Smith in 3 and a battle for 4/5 on the left side.

Good grief... this again? Just watch the first INT. He threw off balance because Jack Jones was in his lap. He probably shouldn't have thrown the ball and just taken the snap... but he's been coached not to take sacks by Jones from day 1. BUT... as you watch that play, notice Wolf down field. If Jones had been anything less than run over by UF's DT... QD steps into that throw and completes it down field.

Jones has repeatedly gone about as far in public criticism of players as he ever goes when talking about the WR's. When asked what he said to Dormady... he said he needed to stop trying to compensate for bad plays by receivers.

Give Dormady a clean pocket and WR's who do their jobs... and he won't be the problem. How good is he? I won't claim to know... until he gets more help.

It's not always sacks that shows how good the O Line is. QB hurries and QB hits are indicators as well. Overall I've been pleased with the line. Probably the best year for that group since Butch has been here and I don't think it's by coincidence we're doing well while also having the top lineman in the country in the group. He's a game changer.

66 hasn't played well in 12 quarters. He was horrible last week, 4 penalties 3 of them in the red zone. Time for Venzill !!!

Could be better. Got depth though and that's something that hasn't been there in forever.

No OP our OL is not extremely good. I would say they are better than last year. Which is not saying much. I was watching SEC network earlier and Jordan Rodgers brought up our OL. We have really good offensive talent. But as far as pass blocking, we are average. Our run blocking looks good. But there again, I think Kelly makes them look better because he can break tackles so well.

Oline got their asses handed to them the 1st half. Thats not "extremely good" They better learn how to dominate the entire game.
