It probably won’t. But if his offense is working it’s a quick scoring offense. Pruitts was more drive oriented. When his was working we kept possession.
When Heupels offense isn’t working it isn’t going to eat up clock. Probably some 3 and outs or punt after one first down. Same as Pruitt or any other offense having a bad game.
The point is if the offense is working or not the defense may be on the field more IMO.
Pruitts offense was beyond horrible. How many defensive TDs in critical situations did they allow? I can name several games that turned on turnovers for TDs. Pruitt teams averaged 24 even with some easy games. Big games, they were good for 14 pts.
The A&M game last year Tennessee had the ball less than 18 minutes I believe. Similar for the Florida game. Hardly “drive-oriented”.
