We'll put up 40 to 50 points a game this fall, but our LB corps is going to be really, really bad.

A 6-6 season would be a godsend.

What makes you say that? Did you just want to say that, or do you actually have analysis as to why?

Heh. Sure...

Byron Young. 3* JC transfer.
Jeremy Banks. Back up last season.
Juan Mitchell. 3* Transfer

We lost our talent. Gonna be tough sledding on D.

At this point in the Summer, we must assume that virtually every player at every position is new and or untested. Therefore, how can we predicting Wins? Our entire coaching staff is also brand new in Knoxville, ballboys are new, lots of new people at the concession stands were recently hired and so on. We had a crappy season last year - so anyone coming back is 100% suspect. And not a naysayer gang - just calling like it is.

I don't think our defensive problems this year are going to be isolated to any one position group.

Mitchell led Texas in tackles even though he missed 2 games. Banks is an idiot but is a beast vs the run. Willis is faster than any LB we had last year or 2...he may actually be able to cover a slant...which we all know never once happened by a LB last season.

We will give up plenty of points passing this season no doubt....but both our starting inside LB last season were WAY over rated and were a liability every snap vs a TE or slot WR....i think this years group will be better than last years. We will see...

OH... so recruiting rankings forever lock someone into being a bad player... and 3* who choose to play for UT particularly.

I'm not predicting they'll be good much less great. But your assumption... is pretty dumb.

FTR, LB play last year was very poor... so even if you are right we won't be getting used to something new.

Oh, you may want to watch some of Mitchell's video from last year. He's better than HT in coverage. He had more stopping power. He looked at least as mobile.

Byron Young. 3* JC transfer. ( Top DE prospect in JUCO)
Jeremy Banks. Back up last season.?? Or was he co-starter with Crouch??
Juan Mitchell. 3* (Starting LB at Texas)

Maybe it will be tough sledding. You didn't exactly give a convincing argument as to why.

Why even mention stars after two of them have been playing or starting at P5 football for 3 years?

I don't know if they will actually be better or worse, but it wouldn't surprise me if they look worse due to being on the field more often if Heupel's offense is successful. Didn't UCF avg like 8 min less per game on time of possession?
