if neither side of the Dooley debate proves to be right. What if we lose to UGA, Bama, SC and split with Miss St and Missouri or even beat both, then beat Troy , UK and Vandy and win a bowl game over an average team. Dooley would have an 8 or 9 win season and a bowl win but still no quality wins. I truly believe we all want to win, and the majority agree we need to let the season play out, but if it plays out like I've outlined, which it very well could, we have no answers.

Beating Miss St in Starkville is a solid win...but unlikely. I am thinking we lose to Miss St and beat Mizz. 7-5 is staring us in the face. Next year will probably be worse if we lose Hunter/Patterson and possibly Bray. Hunter and Patterson are locks to leave after this year. We will get rocked by Oregon at Oregon next year. We have a tougher schedule next year. The future isnt looking good.

I think a win at MSST is very possible. Yeah, they are 4-0, but they haven't played anybody except Auburn (correction, they haven't played anybody).

Dooley must come up with 2 top 25 upsets this season. he needs some creditablity going into next year.

yep. or once vs bama might save him for another year. other wise his future doesn't look to bright here.

I think DD needs at least one signature win against Florida, Georgia or Alabama (SC would help too.) and no losses against teams like Vandy and Kentucky to save his job and show he can hang with the big boys in the SEC. Already lost to Florida, no chance at beating Alabama. I really believe if we lose to Georgia DD is done in Tennessee. I like him but I woundnt mind if we went a different direction at the end of the season. It is time for Tennessee to stop settling for mediocrity.

MSU would only be a qaulity win(to some) becuase they will be ranked when we play them. I doubt the end the year ranked.

Keep him. Let our D get Sal's system down pat and get more depth at LB and Dline.

My greatest fear this season is we will lose to UGA, USCe, Bama, Mizzou, Miss St, Troy, and Vandy. This program will be on absolute rock bottom and our AD will not make a move as the money is not right to do so. The recruits will jump ship and we will move forward with a lame duck coach with even less talent. It's hard to think about, but could very well play out.

Candy, Kensucky, and misery are just awful. We will be able to outscore them and get our 7-5 season and some lame bowl....there are 35 of them now.

The fan base may not be happy with this seasons outcome but they will still support the program unless we only win 5 or 6 and don't make a change. Then it will be hard to have faith that our program is trying to win!

If we would have been playing Vandy or Missouri last night, we could have very well got beat. Akron had some of the worst recruiting classes the last 3-4 years as expected. Any other team in the SEC has alot more talent and would have beat us last night. It was crazy to hear Dooley talk about Akron crowding the box and our NFL WR's could not get free in one on one coverage.

if we had been playing vandy or mizzou last night we wouldnt have played like we dont give a **** for 30 minutes either

I also believe the Georgia game will predict CDD's fate. Not necessarily the result in that one game, but it will be a predictor as to how the rest of the season plays out. If we start 0-4 in conference, I can see this team quitting and the wheels coming off again.
