our first opponent

That was a pretty tough schedule, especially that first game with the nut house in Bolivar...

indeed a dangerous opponent....we have nothing to gain and everything to lose by playing montana in the opener. If we win there will be no recognition becuase it was what was expected, if we lose we will be the headline of the weekend because we lost to lowly montana even though they are a very good team and will be a tough matchup to start the season. Hopefully the team doesnt overlook them...

I saw them play in the 1-AA championship here in Chattanooga a few years ago. If they've retained any of their overall talent, then we really shouldn't overlook them. This team is NOT UT-Martin.

I don't see this being a close game, I am more worried about Cincy. IMO we just have too much talent offensively for them to keep us out of the zone. If this Montana team gives us problems then we will struggle, I would say we win 35+.

No way we lose to Montana who lost to the likes of Cal Poly and Weber state. And lost 4 games of that easy schedule. Give me a break!.

Dooley will not overlook this team. This is a good opening game and it may take a few drives for the offense to get settled in but it end up being a blow out.

I agree we shouldn't overlook them, but they were still a 7-4 Division 1-AA team with two score losses to Eastern Washington and Weber State. If we don't obliterate them, it's a terrible sign.

We should win, but this team is a lot more talented than Tennessee-Martin.
And we're a lot more talented than Montana. The funny thing is that if we were to lose this game, we would probably still hear people blaming the loss on our lack of depth, coaching changes, etc. instead of recognizing what would have clearly been a disastrous coaching performance.

Our coaches and players should never overlook anyone. We, as fans, can overlook Montana. Not one vol fan should worry about Montana beating us in Knoxville. Vols win.

I really hope that we kick this game off @ 6:00p.m. this year like last year's Opener. The UT-Martin game was just beautiful weather-wise. That game had a great atmosphere.

This game scares me, bc if we lose we look forward to a ridiculous amount of ridicule. Montana also borders Wyoming, and we all know how that went down, still beating my head over it.

If they've retained that talent, we should challenge them to a spelling contest, because they will be complete morons... If they have replaced that talent... then you are correct.. we definitely shouldn't overlook them. I hope it is a hot.. humid day when we play. Missoula is NEVER hot and humid. If you ever get a chance to go there, it is a neat city in a beautiful area

Hey, they lost by 9 to Eastern Washington, which won the FCS Championship. Show some respect, haha. Tennessee shouldn't have a problem, but historically Montana has been one of the top FCS teams. I just had to throw out a plug for my Eagles!

Western St, Cal Poly, Idaho St, wow these are some challenging opponents. Come on vn, you can't honestly say that this game has you worried, although I hate it when we schedule opponents like this, we should see Simms taking snaps after the first half. Losing by 9 points is irrelevant when the best team you play is Weber St.
