The biggest turnaround for O at LSU is he now has a capable QB. Everything else was already there to win 8-9 games a year. Loaded with athletes. He now has a shot in every game. Tenn has the talent to win 8-9games with a capable QB. That cost Miles his job and may cost Pruitt his job. QB is where games are won and lost. More than o line and D lines.

To be fair, we didn’t fire some of them. Some of them just left, and some are not doing well, but are in a reverse career, especially kiffin as a HFC in NFL>>SEC>>>PAC12>>>Conf USA. Dooley dropped all the way down to position coach but as an OC he is probably good enough to last a few years on the job. Butch of course is an intern making $20 an hour at least for now. I think he will bounce back.

Football Games are won with great players.....Phil Fulmer started a down spiral after TMartin(he scewed the black quarterbacks and the word is out the Great Black Player will never come to Tennessee until Tennessee change its culture) dont blame Jeremy Pruitt he is a good coach the Town of Knoxville should use the auburn ala Model......If you cant figure out that you win with Great BLACK PLAYERS( even Bear Bryant got his butt kicked until he started to recruit the superior athlete) Knoxville have a culture under Phil Fulmer where Tennessee is doomed until they change their culture.....look for the next 20 years with the same results...Yes knoxille is paying for the sins of big Phil....they are the laughing stock of college football....the fans look like a bunch of goobers............Johnnie Major get the last laugh

Well you aren’t looking at the entire picture. Wilcox, Shoop and O were all coordinators here and all but Shoop did fairly well and that was because of Butch’s boneheaded decision to not take SCC coach seriously. Also, all of them have a boatload more experience now than when they were here which is one reason why two of them are HCs. Coach O already was an HC in the SEC and had some success. Kiffin had to drop to DC to win his championship. He hasn’t proved much anywhere as an HC. Dooley has dropped to coordinator and his O was good at UT, but he also had Chaney. Jury is still out on Dooley and Wilcox though.

You want to give me Shoop or Wilcox at DC again with Fitz still at S&C, Dooley or Kiffin at OC and Coach O at the helm, I will show you a championship at Tennessee.

I wonder what Coach O and Kiffin are thinking about each other now that Coach O succeeded LES MILES as HEAD COACH at LSU while Kiffin is HC for the lowly (not really) owls.

3-4 years I think Pruitt can get us turned around or at the very very least have the cupboard filled with guys who know how to win and practice the right way.

Watching Coach Cut right now running up the score on Virginia Tech.

He might be old. But I would imagine if he was the HC in Knoxville right now, we would be 3-1. Maybe even 4-0. And our QB room wouldn’t suck so bad.

He probably wouldn’t ever take us to Atlanta. But he could get us 8-9 wins a season and a good bowl every season. Which is what we need here.

Hell no it's not wonderful. Just because I believe Pruitt needs and deserves time doesnt make me a sunshine pumper who thinks everything is okay. This will take time. Pruitt is rebuilding an entire program, not just a team. It's not going to be successful for at least another year, probably 3. If it doesnt work out, he will be let go. Butch had his chance. He built that program and it should have won the east minimum. Instead he squandered the talent. We had a future HOF RB as a back up. Understand though that as long as we are in this "4 or 5 years and if it's not working blow it up" cycle, we are starting from scratch every time we blow it up. It's literally hitting the reset button. And that's just something we as fans have to accept and understand.

Had Wilcox not left UT Dooley would have survived several more years..... once he left .... the D went to hell

Dooley failed because he was so damn lazy. He had the worst work ethic of any head coach I’ve ever heard of. Great coaches are all workaholics. Especially in college because it’s all about recruiting.
