Our Defense...

Monte has a problem with the spread.

I guess that's why we held Florida to their lowest yardage total of the season.

I also love the terminology of "the spread". I guess any offense that uses a few wide receivers is "the spread". So... pretty much any defense that's struggled against just about any team has had a problem with "the spread".

Well, if you blame the coaches you are set on fire, so who else is left?

Monte has a problem with the spread.

Monte has no problem with the spread. The players we have left do. Unless you think florida is worse offensively than vanderbilt.

Pretty solid performance considering the circumstances, wasn't it there jeremy?

When you and The Fired Coach are out at the Krispy Kreme in the morning, tell him I said hi!

Clutch goal line stand after the blown PI call to nullify the INT. Don't leave that out of your argument that Monte's D sucks.

This D is limping home, due to depth, and the JJ situation.

We are playing 2 guys at LB, that would not have seen the field, short of 3 injuries.

Monte is coaching at a great disadvantage at this point in the season.

No. It couldn't be fulmer's fault for not having adequate depth!! It MUST be Money Kiffin's lack of coaching ability.

Only have about half the defensive starters left, the rest are related to Fulmers friends.

We gave up a lot of yards in the first half and Vanderbilt got a TD. After it looked like the D got tougher in the second half the result didn't look nearly as bad as it seemed at first. The scoring went like this:
UT 31
Vanderbilt 6
Refs 10

It wasn't as bad as it seemed when you look at it that way. Monte did just fine.

Good Lord. What do you want? The team is uber thin at LB and DB. I think the performance by the D is a testiment to Monte and his staff.

After it became obvious that Vanderbilt's only ticket to the end zone was going to be a yellow flag, I agree 100%.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Fulmer left us absolutely nothing on defense. What was the school paying him for?

Not defending PF but injuries has depleted our defense. We would have had a very good defense if we could have stayed healthy but thats football.

It's just how the Tampa-2 is designed. You give a little by keeping the two safeties back preventing the big play, and try to set up big time hits, interceptions and most importantly, keeping the opponent out of the endzone. Vandy only got in once, and we picked them off at the end barring the worst call I've ever seen.

It worked, we got a win. Let's do it to Kentucky too.
