I felt like our defense played well enough to win yesterday. They limited florida's big plays. They played with horrible field position for majority of the game because of our anemic offense. I would like to see better tackling but i thought our play was good enough to win. thoughts?

I think our D was playing well considering that they were playing a top 5 offense in the nation. Our offense won't give them a break though, it's very discouraging

i said all week that the defense would not be a problem. other aspects of the game were what we had to worry about. our offense is truly horrible

you would think 4 trys to punch it in is enough but apparantly not. we have got to learn the fundamentals of football before we can beat teams that are as talented as florida

Eric Berry is awesome, take him off the team I think it's an average defense. No one really stands out IMO. Adams Myers White has his moments, I don't understand why he isnt a starter.

Tennessee beat themselves. They basicly spotted Florida 10 pts in the first half with the fumble and punt return and that was all Florida needed to win.

i still for the life of me can't figure out what clawson was thinking with 16 seconds left in the half when we were down at the florida 2 yard line. instead of running it up the gut, he goes into a 5 wide shotgun formation. even if you were stopped on the first try, 16 seconds is more than enough time to quickly set up and run another play.

the team and coaching staff just does not seem to manage the clock well when we get inside two minutes. and in the second half we didnt seem to have any urgency at all

if our offense doesnt improve drastically auburn bama and georgia are gonna run over us

i think it's already safe to say that's gonna happen anyway. i thought auburn might be a tossup until i made the trip to knoxville yesterday.

Our offensive co-ords are truly reading their business cards, they ARE offensive! :ermm:

I think the defense looked so good because our offense was THAT DAMNED BAD. :cray:

We've got about 2-3 topflight stars on the team. The REST of the program (from head coach down too equipment mgr) needs to be thrown in the river and started anew. :clapping:

when our offense doesnt improve drastically auburn bama and georgia are gonna beat us so bad the power demands of the scoreboards will require rolling blackouts throughout the Southeast.

adjusted your post for realism, and then dramatic effect.

yea i was gonna make the trip to auburn but now i think i will just watch it at home and drown my sorrows. eric berry has the attitude we need at every position

After Florida got the lead they just punched us with smash-mouth football. Our defensive line is weak. They get blown off the ball.

The reason Tennessee limited the big plays is because they didn't try any. Florida went to Phil's thinking in that they could sit on the lead, but you know Florida actually had the coaching and talent to protect the lead.

I agree with you Bisiness. At first I praised the D considering they only gave up 250 total yards and held Tebow in check, but a lot of that was based on UF's play calling after they were up. That being said, they did play decent Saturday, but not anything near championship football or anything.

i believe our offense will improve. crompton cant play this poorly all the time surely. then again we do have some poor coaching

You are sipping the Kool aid my 'Brier neighbor. Crompton has shown no sign of getting things under control. And waiting until the second half of the schedule is unacceptable. The new Claw-fense is Clawful ....

Our defensive line is awful. I mean you really can't go in-depth with that, because that's all that needs to be said. They are passive and weak.

I think Eric Berry played well, how much you wanna bet he wishes he went to Georgia?

so you dont think crompton will, over time mind you, get any better because his play thus far has been pathetic

Considering the fact that Florida began running out the clock with 5 minutes left in the first quarter, our defense was pretty bad.

If there was going to be significant improvement from Crompton, we would have seen some by this point. I have only seen him show even more bad judgement (like continually not sliding after scrambling, and taking big hits) without correcting the established ones. From the neck down he is a fine QB. Unfortunately, the QB position is the most cerebral on the field.

maybe i'm wrong, but the vibe i've gotten from crompton so far this season is that he doesn't think things through that much on the field. what will overstreet said this morning on sunday sports talk about crompton and the goalline situation is a perfect example.
