Our Defense next year and beyond has a bright future.

Yeah, Sal doesn't seem like a legit DC to me. If Wilcox was still the DC, I believe UT would be 5-1 right now.

Sucks knowing the O can put up 40+ points and still lose the game half of the time.

I love how ppl are surprised that our defense sucks when we hired a lifetime LB coach to call plays. Dooley seems to be the only coach that has trusted Chaney/Sal to call plays throughout their careers. The part that bothers me though is watching elite talent pass through the program and have no W's for it. Dooley should be fired based on his inability to hire/keep a decent staff.

Some people amaze me. Some people like to at least try to sometimes be a little positive but once that starts here come the negative people and the volnation experts to tell them to shut up and we suck and need to fire everyone. Considering half of those secondary players have not even played yet and most of our lbs are sohpmores I do see potential for improvement. Even though you don't and we just suck and need to just stop playing football because we suck :cray:

My analogy is that our same OLine that sucked at run blocking is now getting much better. Same personnel basically. Same scheme. Just now mostly junior muscle and attitude and ability vs sophomore.

Same players can mature and develop.
If not for the 4 DAs, imagine the difference on both sides of the ball this season: JJackson, Myles, Clear and DRogers, all potential huge differences that each blew every possible chance to make a HUGE difference this season. SMH. Do not want our staff to compromise for these foolish boys. Do not misunderstand me.

I was listening to the football soundoff show with Jimmay Hyams and Todd Kelly, and Kelly was saying that their is nothing wrong with running a 4-3 defense and going right at opponents and daring you to stop them from geting to the quarterback. I would like to see this we don't need all these fancy schemes we just need good hard nosed defense taking it too people.

Next year we bring back almost everyone back except for Waggner and Lathers as far as starters go. Next year is when we loos everyone when they graduate, but I think that as long as we close with Toby Johnson and Von Bell this year and have a strong class in 14 then our defense will be stronger and more athletic, Here is a look in the future. This is also assuming AJ and Curt don't go pro after next year.

CB
Coleman
Gray

CB
Bonner
Sutton

NB
JRM

FS
Randolph
Miles

SS
Mccneil
(Bell) uncommitted

JLB
Williams
Lewis

MLB
Johnson
Harris

WLB
Maggitt
Bynum

SLB
Camble
Vereen

DE
Taylor
Carr

NT
Bradley
O'brien

DE
(Johnson) uncommitted
Phillips

If anything, Phillips should be a NT. Isn't he like 6'6 320 lbs?

Don't forget our DC either. I mean I hate to be that guy. In his defense IIRC he was a co-coordinator at UGA. That crap NEVER works to my knowledge. He also won a lot of games at UGA and has a grade A staff around him now IMO. But at the end of the day he was in fact fired at UGA. So yes, IMO he has something to prove as well. Being better than Sal doesn't mean you're good, here's to hoping he shows out.

Look at his record at Ga. Would you have fired him?

He won a lot of games at UGA, I clearly stated that. I would have never had the co-coordinator thing to start with so I can't say if I would fire him. I'm just pointing out that this goes deeper than players, nothing more nothing less.
