I am really excited about our Def. This has been an area of concern for several years now but I truly believe we are about to take a major step towards the top teir of the SEC next year. I read we are returning 9 starters with an influx of new blood for depth. Mccullers, taylor, Sentimor, Santos, Peters, and Mcneil. Couple that with AJ, Maggit, lathers, and Harris. If we can keep PW at corner with solid safty play. IMO we have the talent thats been lacking.

I understand coaches want their schemes but they have alot to work with. If Im missing someone please correct me.

I'm not saying anything this year. I thought our secondary would be elite our linebackers would suck and our pass rush would be improved. Saw how that worked out. If I had to guess we will be improved but I'm worried about the pass rush and interior line in general.

Randolph, Lanier, Moore, Thomas and Gordon. Not to mention Trevaris Saulsbury and Jordan Williams. Sorry if I didn't spell them right.

I think Couch, talyor, big mac, Sentimor, Jaq S, amoung others will provide size a speed..freeing up our lbs. At least I hope so.

Our size in impressive on dline and most definatly at lb. Im super pumped about the defensive side of the ball.

With getting sentimore and mccullers (I think sentimore will play dt) I think we are more in need of jaq smith to live up to his hype or willie bo to have a breakout season.

So we're going to "have the talent thats been lacking" by having "9 starters returning"? How does the same roster of almost all the same players suddenly become more talented? Our new players, almost all frosh, are unlikely to be better than Jackson & Johnson, the heart of our defense this past year.

I am really excited about the defense.

Especially mcneill and santos and sentimore.

Also really excited about second year for the three jucos.

big jump from one more year in the SEC. This should help bring the talent to fruition.

The key to the defense is to be able to rotate 9-10 players on the defensive line to keep them fresh.

Also, if we can get PW to move to his natural posirion it would benifit us greatly. Any thought on this happening?

D-Line is my main concern... Gotta have a solid pass rush. It starts from there...

From what I gather, RS doesnt rush the LB's a great deal... The LB's are expected to cover more. I know we have beefed up at the LB position, so i am not too sure how that will translate in Shannon's scheme..... If he is fact our DC. Getting tired of the suspense, announce it already for the love of God.

I honestly believe that the players recruited the past couple of years have plenty of talent ...and plenty of experience. One would have to believe that UT is due for a breakout kinda year... Possibly making a ''solid'' run at the East. To expect less than that from the Vols in 2012 makes no sense to me. Hopefully RS can pull a rabbit outta his hat and pursuade a couple more D-Lineman to Play for the Big Orange.

with more experience at linebacker and safety there should be more blitzes available
