What's it gonna be?

Just here watching the games, and it got me thinking. In what way could this team have won the tournament. So, I started this thread for a couple reasons. One, because I'm bored and wondered other people's thoughts. Two, because this is a whole heck of a lot better than all the doom and gloom threads that are being put up lately.

Ok, so the rules are simple. Besides the things changed in each scenario, everything else about the most recent team stays the same. Vote on which scenario would most likely win us an NCAA championship, or at least a Final Four bid.

Scenario 1: This team adds Lebron James, but we're forced to give up McRae, Stokes, and Golden.

Scenario 2: We add Tobias Harris and JJ Reddick, but we lose McRae and Golden is limited to 20 minutes per game.

Scenario 3: Phil Jackson or Coach K is the head coach, but each player on the roster is limited to 21 minutes per game.

This is silly, I know, but what say you, Volnation?

This isn't silly at all! It's absolutely stupid!! Are you like 12 years old still playing imaginary games?

Come on, this isn't that bad. Just wondering. I'd much rather do this that gripe about how the program sucks and go on about how we should fire the coach and blah, blah, blah.

I think each scenario addresses a perceived weakness of the most recent team.

I love the idea of a thread like this. Just don't think the options are all that great.

You obviously take Lebron James. And still boast a starting 5 of Armani Moore at the 1, Josh Richardson at the 2, Lebron at the 3, Kenny Hall 4 and Yemi 5. Haha. It would be awesome to see Lebron wearing orange. We would win the tournament and go undefeated because we had Lebron James and the teams we played against did not have Lebron James. He is the most well rounded player of our generation. We would seriously dominate all year long.

Find some more challenging options and you have a great thread. And thanks for letting me imagine Lebron wearing a Vols jersey.

LeBron after his senior year of high school could have jumped on any team and won a national championship, let alone at 28-year-old LeBron who's already one of the best players of all time . We could put LeBron on the court with Tyler Summitt, Stephen Pearl, Skyler McBee and the water boy and we'd still dominate

I personally think it was really close between 1 & 2. Although Lebron is all world, I'm just not sure that one person could win you championship. It seems like they could have a bad game (albeit his "bad game" would still be ridiculous at the college level) or a coach could game plan for him really well. It seems like there would have to be other pieces.

That's what's intriguing about scenario 2. Although Stokes came on strong at the end of the year, most expected a faster rate of maturation and felt it was hampered by not having a presence there to take pressure off him. To avoid the constant double teams. Insert Tobias Harris. You have another post player who could take a lot of pressure off Stokes and allow him command the low post. Additionally another problem with this team was knockdown shooting. There you have JJ Reddick. He not only knocks down shots, but he would create so much more space for Harris and Stokes to maneuver in the post. Not to mention that at the college level Reddick was much more than just a three point shooter (national player of the year) he was actually a player that could takeover and dominate games. Again, at the college level.

So, I actually think it's fairly close. And, by the way, could you people lighten up. This was only made to have a little fun. Sorry if everyone else would rather sit around a sulk.
