Never seen anything like this. It's not just committing to work on the field and weight room. These guys are committed to eachother and the recruiting trail as well.

Very pleased with the direction of this program.

Even so, I'm sure this is encouraged or even suggested by the coaches. It's also very effective. Good thread!

Our best recruiter might be the fear of having to line up across from Cecil Cherry from 2015-2018 if you elect to attend a university other than UT.

I think it started with Vic Wharton and everyone else just followed his lead. I also suspect that Butch & co had a hand in it as well.
You know something like "If you want to win, we're going to need some good players to come here and you can help with that!" That would make any 17-18 year old feel special.

Posted this in another thread, but seemed more applicable here:

The effort and dedication to recruiting is important and necessary, and their pulling in the talent is important as well, but I think the biggest WIN in recruiting we have is the overall atmosphere of excitement and positivity from our recruits. They buy in, are excited to come in and get to work (not just play early), are excited about the program direction, and excited to make an impact and build it back--> they interact with other recruits (ex, the DT from WI via time with Charles Moseley)--> the excitement and positivity surrounding the program bleeds off on others--> we are in on SO many talented guys. This positivity is something we've not had in too long.

The way my generation moves, twitter will be like Facebook in a year and Facebook will be myspace and myspace will close down.

It shows that the staff knows how to get these kids to buy in. An average team will play way above their talent level with the right motivation. Look at what Missouri has been able to do.

VolNation will morph into an international message board conglomerate with boards for every team everywhere from US colleges to soccer leagues to cricket leagues to lingerie football leagues and eventhough Freak is already wealthy, he will become the first bizillionaire.

The 2015 class already has a ton of guys that out in work.

Williams/Woods should be recruiting S/CB
Jack Jones/Stewart - DE
Cecil Cherry - Offense
Butcher/Jackson - OT's

'Cause no one wants to go up against those guys.
