Our Atmosphere

The "Who's louder?" stuff is silly. Once you get above about 85,000 people in a closed stadium, there's not much difference. Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, LSU and even SC are ear piercing places to play for the visiting team.

Not true, imo. I have been to Bammer and to SC and both were louder than Neyland, especially Bama. The LSU fans at the Dome were louder last December, too.

Unfortunately, UT games are now social events for many fans.

:lolabove: SC is not louder than Neyland. I can't speak for BD.

Have you guys heard Branden Smith's comments about his trip up here? He said the Florida crowd was louder than ours. Hate to say but they create more havoc than us. Why is that and we have more fans packed in our stadium. It sounds like we as fans need to check our vol pride too. :hi:

have you seen where florida's stadium is positioned? it's down in a hole. thus...it seems louder

a lot of it has to do with the bands. The Florida and LSU bands do a great job of keeping the crowds in the games with their little songs they play along and keep you in it. Of course, having a team play in a way that keeps you excited is also part of it at those 2 venues. I do think our band needs to do a much better job though.

As was said before, the UF and LSU games do seem to have more chants/cheers. That helps keep the crown in it.

Maybe we should just make sure all the official visits happen during basketball games. Its always loud and we win at home. No one can complain about the basketball atmosphere

I was watching the game, and it seemed like there were tons of Bama people there. Every time bama made a play it got loud.

Anybody know how many bama fans were there. It could of been our fans were quiet do to the fact we play like goats.

There are threads on this already but around 20,000 Bama fans.

I dont think its who can be the loudest. I think its who can be loud the whole time, we are underachieving in this dept

That sounds good, but there aren't really fans anywhere that cheer for the entire game for no apparent reason.

When the second half started our team wasn't out of the game. The fans were nowhere near as intense as they were in the first half. Also its easier for the players to play when someone is backing them and harder on the opposition when you have fans that hate your team making alot of racket.

Georgia wins around 90% of their road games so I guess the noise, rooting for or against, is not a big factor at all.

That's Georgia. Also even if they are winning it shouldn't stop the crowd from cheering loud even if they have a ten point lead in the third quarter like bama had on us.
