Our Atmosphere

I understand...but repeated instances of 3 and out will suck the life out of ANY teams fans...the play in the field dictates the level of noise...period.

If you think Florida fans would be standing up cheering like crazy after 8 straight 3 and outs, you're crazy. Does anyone remember the Zook era?

Every time I think about the Swamp all I can think is their fans are loud and crazy. LSU'S fans create havoc. These fans could care less about their reputation they just want to be loud and cheer their team to a win.

Bingo.

Though I do think the 2 bits thing is ridiculously stupid, as traditional as it might be.

Did you go to any LSU games in the early 1990s? they were terrible and it was NOT an intimidating place to play.

Why were there so many posts about you shouldn't go to the game, sit home and make your point by showing an empty stadium, and now it's the opposite?

I've been to every home game. They all start out energized. But it's hard to keep that excitement up when you feel defeated. Re-watch some of the GA and FL games when they begin to lose. Their fans re-act the same way. The difference is, it's not a struggle from start to finish in every game they play like it is for us.

Well it is now. And opponents fear going in there. They may lose here and there but the fans will not welcome other fans or teams into the Bayou.

UGA looked really scared.

I takes a team like that to beat LSU at home. Mentally tough and on a mission. But Bama players thought they were at home in the second half. Tebow said that he was bored. That pisses me off for an opposing player to be bored and not say its a tough place to play.

Tennessee, in its worst season since 1988, got a W there.

True, but they weren't as beaten down and downtrodden at that time in the season.

The problem is that the price of donation plus tickets have gotten so high here that you get a bunch of blue hairs in the stand that wont cheer.

Maybe it's just me, but having been to Florida, the fact that people stand and cheer all game may have something to do with it.
At the Swamp, the fans are doing cheers after every single play, good or not. They back their team 100%. Our fans see a bad play and continue sitting. Our fans see a decent play and continue sitting.
I think it's time to have the Spirit Squad invent new cheers to incorporate all fans.

Maybe LG can clarify but I doubt there was much "cheering all game long" during the Zook years.

When was the last time you were in Neyland? Please explain to me your 1st hand knowledge of the atmosphere in places like FL, AL, AU, LSU, and GA during their down years compared to the atmosphere in Neyland during this drought.

Or are you just making this stuff up as you go along?

Who cares about down years. That's most fans problems their living in the past not the present. We need to be cheering right now or just don't show up.
