Joe Castilian, our AD, was interviewed yesterday and he said that seating for home games would be prioritizeD based on how long you have held your season tickets and where you rank in the donar program. I have also been told that your ticket office has been advised by the OU ticket office that the range of tickets you will get will be between 2000 and the normal allocation which I believe is around 4000. This all tells me that the game will be played but with social distancing as the norm. OU has somewhere around 70 plus thousand season ticket holders. Recenter stadium improvements have actually reduced capacity by a couple of thousand. My guess is that you'll see a max of 40k seated inside the stadium. Before the reduction of seats on a normal game day w/o a virus to consider we'd put 86k plus inside but noway that will happen anytime this season. Top 3 crowds are ND, TOSU, and TCU.

Thanks for the update. As a Vol living in Dallas married to a Sooner, we were going to come to the game but with the uncertainty we decided to cancel our hotel reservations. While I would still love to be there live, I’ll be happy to watch it on tv as long as there is still a game played. Go Vols!

There will be fewer OK fans going home disappointed then I reckon.

I also live in the DFW area. I’ll probably take a look at StubHub in the week or two leading up to the game just to see if going is a possibility. Doubtful, but it doesn’t cost anything to look.

Thanks for passing the info. I’ll hold out small hope we can make the trip and keep our hotel for the time being.

OU has adequate reserves even if the 2020 season is kaput. Most do not.
The OU Athletics dept. is self-sustaining to the point that it gives money to the main school budget. It is one of only a handful of schools that is self-sustaining and doesn't receive outside help, other than individual donors. However, the preponderance of private support for the athletic dept. as well as the university comes from the oil and gas industry. OU's Geology, Petroleum Engineering, and Petroleum Land Management schools are world renowned and graduates are in leadership positions across the industry. With oil suffering as it is the pipeline for financial support is dry at this time.

I don't know what will happen out there, but for SEC games, if there is reduced capacity, the only visitor tickets will be the required player guest allotment. No visiting band and no general fans. Again, that's only if there is reduced capacity and plans could change, but right now the schools are going to do whatever they can to make as many donors/season ticketholders happy.

So does Tennessee stiff Oklahoma by a couple thousand tickets on their allotment in 2024?

No, for two reasons. One, it's a global pandemic. Two, Tennessee needs the 4,000-5,000 Oklahoma fans to ensure a sellout at Neyland. Remember, when we were selling out games, it was when opposing fans were buying up those upper deck endzone tickets that we've struggled to sell since.

How do you think they expect to keep donors happy if at 50 percent or less captivity?

Key words from my post: “as many.”

Can’t keep everyone happy when you’re at 50%. Particularly when your number is reduced by also having to admit a certain number of students, 1000+ recruiting tickets, 500 for visitor player guests, etc.

Where can you buy tickets?
I would assume Stubhub or Seat Geek or some such site. OU games are always sold out but this is a totally without precedent situation. Usually on game day there are people selling tickets outside the stadium. Given social distancing and supply and demand this will be a tough and expensive ticket.

As a Vol Living 10 miles From UO (university of OK) I was hoping there would be a sea of a orange invading the area...sadly I believe covid is going to keep that from happening
