OU Sooners HC

It seems that Danny White has the Athletics Department moving in the right direction. There are so many example of schools that hire great coaches but can't seem to win because of the dysfunction in the Athletics Department (or NFL head office). For example, watch the "reception" USC gave Lincoln Riley (Lincoln Riley’s USC introduction was unbelievably embarrassing - SBNation.com). Look at the look on Riley's face. You can see that he is saying to himself "What the heck did I get myself into?"
Also, unlike most states, there is only ONE flagship university in the state of Tennessee. Vols football will always get the resources it needs, because there is almost zero competition from other college football programs in the state. I am sure Heupel realizes this.

Do you think Wanya Morris and Eric Gray would have been starters had they stayed?
I hold no grudges, they did what they thought was best for them. My point was in general, “the grass is not always greener on the other side”. If they had bought into Heupel’s system, they both would have started, in my opinion.

CJH has built something here, he's not walking away, Already had a chance and turned them down, Noway he wants to work with stoops and he embraces everything UT. The man can stay as long as he wants.......We

have a coach that is building a powerhouse and he knows it. Why leave for a dumpster fire like Oklahoma? Not going to happen to put those worries aside and relish we have a man that however he got here is BIG ORANGE, He's a vol and a damn good one I think!

I don't see him leaving for another college job. I could see him leaving if the NFL comes calling, but it's too early for that.

I didn't look through all the pages so pardon me if this has already been mentioned.

There is no reason for Heuple to go back to Oklahoma
There is no reason for Peyton to come back to Knoxville

Neither grew up caring about the schools they attended.

Neither have anything to gain compared to what happens if it turns out like Frost.

Heuple's offense is something people want to play in. Between the transfer portal and nil Tennessee is a better place than Oklahoma.

Get the cattle prod ready…smh.

Why would he leave a place where most of us expected 8-4 this year, and he is HAPPY and well paid? Just to go to a place where they fired him, and he gets run out of town for the same 8-4 record?

The NFL is a different story, since not everyone likes recruiting 300 days a year.

Can you link me some of them? LOL I bet it's comedy gold

Actually, from what I’ve seen. Its crickets chirping. On a free board I had to search CJH’s name and found only 6 comments, all of them were about his time as QB there.

iirc, on Rivals free content. Only one post I could find was about how that bridge was burned. But, just took another look and there’s a few threads in the premium content.

You're asking if the head coach of a team trending towards the top of the best conference in all of college football will leave for a team trending towards the bottom of the worst conference in all of college football? No.
Johnny was about the only one who ever did that. And he was returning to a place that absolutely adored him. That is impossible now for OK and Heupel. As many have said, that bridge was burned (and the remains chopped into splinters which were burned again and the ashes mixed into concrete that was dumped into the ocean)

The people that matter at OU knew the cupboard was getting bare, especially on defense. Lincoln knew it, too. I think they'll give Venables time to rebuild, but if his recruiting classes are poor, things could change.

They’re gonna try and get Heupel. OU is horrible this year. Would he leave us for his alma mater?
Hopefully not but don’t be surprised. After what we’ve been through nothing would surprise me. If it happens, hire the OC as the HC to keep this offense happening.

LOL some of you guys LOL

Guess who has the #1 offense in year freaking 2 after being left with less than a full team
Stop drinking...it's killing ya brain cells..Yeah go back to where he was fired and not due to him or stay where he's loved.
Building his own legacy here and White will make sure he's paid..
TN is the it place in college football, they may hate us but they can't stop talking about us
GBO

Actually yards per game isn't even a fair way to judge this offense. Opposing teams have so much fear of our offense, they feel like they have to go for it on 4th down and never punt to us. That results in a lot of short fields which definitely hurts our total yardage totals. Frankly I'm surprised we're #1 by that metric. I doubt we end the yr that way but we'll see
