OU player impressed with UT & Neyland

We don't speak of OU around here.

But I do agree with that comparison. It just proves to show how close we are. Nothing is impossible for 2016.

Why not? Outside of Striker and their clown of a coach, I have grown to like Oklahoma and their fans

Excerpt

OU managed to win at both venues this season, but the noise levels of the Cowboys' Boone Pickens Stadium and the Bears' McLane Stadium did not compare to an early September, out-of-conference clash in SEC country.

The Sooners visited Knoxville, Tennesee, to complete their home-and-home series with the Vols. For senior Ty Darlington, no crowd comes close to Tennessee's Neyland Stadium.

"Absolutely not — not even close," he said. "Nothing I’ve ever experienced or ever will experience will compare to Tennessee."

I have no animosity towards OU. As a matter of fact I'm pulling for them to win the NC.

Me too. Of the teams still in it, they will be the least painful to watch win. If they beat Bama in the playoffs, I might just consider them my second favorite team. That distinction usually goes to Auburn since they hate the bammers as much as me, but they got pounded by bama last week, so they're not much use to me this year

He's a really good player and a great kid. Followed him in high school, and he's turned into everything they said. He's dad has run on of the best programs out of Apopka, Fl for years. Same team as Tom Smith, too bad he didn't shine like Ty.

I do not have any problems with OU either. Their fans are fun to be around & are very classy! I had a good time with them at Calhoun's that Friday night before the game!

I think that OU game was a glimpse at what Neyland stadium could be and should be every week. If the team can keep winning no one is going to want to play in our house when the fans go all out like that.

Something about that line, I just love to read over and over.

He's right. It was Wednesday before anybody could hear me talk that week, and I was just one of 102,455.

You are 100 percent correct about Ty. I live in Apopka and know the family quite well, and I saw every down he played in high school.

Ty is an incredible young man who will be wildly successful in anything he does in life. He was valedictorian of his high school class and graduated early from OU because of all the AP classes he took in high school. If the NFL doesn't work out for Ty, he'll do grad school somewhere.

Ty wants to get into coaching/athletic administration, but my wife thinks he ought to be a preacher. He's just a passionate young man about everything he does. That and he learned a lot about football and life from his dad, his high school football coach.

Mayfield and Striker are both gonna kill it in the NFL. Definitely gonna be pulling for this team in the playoff.

Read this last night and got goose bumps.

Think about what this is saying.

A good player from a good playoff team said he will never play in a more electric stadium than Neyland.

If we had to lose one like that I hope it's to the NC team.

I'd pull for Okla or Iowa over Bama or Clemson.

Amazing that UT played 3 out of the current top 4 teams in the last year-- dominated one, took one to OT and almost upset the third. We were so close to having a special year.

Neyland was immense that night, pretty much the entire section around me really got stuck in behind the team...it was moving
