Apples to oranges .

Fuente took over a 6-6 team and one that had been .500 in the weaker ACC division 4 previous years.

UT was a top 10 team.

VT won their division and was competitve against Clemson.

Yep...but our delusional fans think everyone wants to coach here...

If this team implodes and we are forced into a coaching change, we'll look at head coaches from smaller schools (like how we got Butch) or assistants...

We got lucky his players put the ball on the ground so much. Plus we had better athletes than VT. Fuente is a great coach

Hopefully butch’s team will start showing improvement and wont play like crap and we wont have this conversation.

Fuente has more SEC West victories than Butch....he took over a Memphis team that was losing to Ark State by 50 and turned them around. He took over a .500 VT team and won division in 1st yr.

Then why did we hire Lane kiffin? Why did we hire Derek Dooley? Cuz the program was down, correct? Why didn't a big-name come after Philip former? We were a year or two removed from playing in the SEC Championship game and could have played in the national championship. Why didn't the big-name come then?

That's the point. I have been through three coaching hires now, I've seen the names thrown around and I've seen the names that have rejected the offer. It's almost like a house that sits on the market too long. The price drops and people start thinking what's wrong with it. It may be a Wonderful House, it may be a terrific deal, but does something doesn't seem right when it just sits there. Same thing with universities who are continuously turned down. Does that make sense?

Anyway just frustrated, I wasn't getting on you. It's just a pipe dream.

Everyone is sounding just like the Butch supporters when he took over for Dooley. Get back to me after next week when we take him off the list just like Mullen has been taken off this week.

Not sure if I said it in one of these posts or not; however I have been posting Tennessee could not get one of the big names because Tennessee was in a dumpster fire.....no one wanted to come in and die or hurt their career.

But things are much different now. Now there is talent, there are back up, Tennessee has recruited well, Tennessee has been winning and has been winning bowl games, Tennessee also has some new leadership staff.

That is why I think Tennessee could hire a good coach now; it is also why I think they need to do so........because we don't want to end up like 2008-13.......and not be able to get one once we have to have one.

I think it is too. Can someone list another proven head coach with better stats who is willing to come to a below average program and turn chicken s**t into chicken salad?
