With four starters on the OL relatively solidified, I believe one of the most intriguing (and critical) competitions this camp is for the Left Tackle spot. Let's see what you got on this one for now.

I'd like to do another one for DB, outside WR opposite Tillman, and ILB opposite Banks.

JJ is the name I hear the most when discussing that spot and I believe he’s been running the most with the 1s
Pretty much this. Crawford and Mincey are the two guys splitting reps with the 1s. We will see something more concrete after the first scrimmage according to Ellarbee

I think we will know by the end of next week. The pads are on and real battle begins. You want your OL to work together for at least a couple of weeks before the season starts.

I think Crawford will start first game but as the season goes on Mincey will start to play more.

Did he actually play much at FL? I thought he was a reserve
He wasn't a starter but he was on the field a lot. At least he was whenever I watched. No doubt he would be starting at Florida this season. The kid is very nimble for his size and is strong as an ox.

The good news is that they are pushing each other. It’s good when you aren’t handed the position and have to play because there isn’t another option. Davis as the 3rd option would be good with me.

Played very little, may have gotten some mop-up snaps and may have been on FG/XP special teams, but never played extensively and definitely would not have been a starter this year either.

But that doesn’t mean he won’t thrive at TN.

Wrong.

Mincey appeared in 10 games over two seasons mostly on special teams, 0 starts. No way he would have beaten out any of the 5 projected starters at UF, all of whom return from last year, which I’m sure played a role in why he transferred.

He may turn out to be very good but this notion that he was a sure-fire starter at Florida and racked up a bunch of experience is completely wrong.
