First let me say this, I'm a Buckeye fan first, tennessee fan second. However, I don't see why you all are complaining about the refs in this game and the difference in the ft's? Lets not forget that in the first half greg oden and mike conley had 3 fouls each! You have to DRIVE to the basket to draw contact and get to the stripe, which won't happen when you bomb 3's most of the 2nd half. The buckeyes made adjustments and got back to their game plan which is getting conley to drive 2 the basket 2 get layups or kick it out for open shots.

Now, CBP and tenn r a very good team and had a great season and will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years. But don't belittle ohio state by saying that your the clearly better team when you've lost twice to osu. Ohio state is'nt the #1ranked team in the nation for nothing, great teams find ways to win.

Is their really anybody in their right mind saying that Tennessee is a better team than OSU?

When I was younger and I didn't really follow sports that much, I was watching the 1998 national championship game and I was just blown away by this team with orange uni's and a orange checkerd endzone. I was hooked then on Tennessee, and have been a fan ever since. Even though I live in columbus, I was a Tennessee fan before I was a buckeye fan, but since half my family went to osu and some currently go there, they grew on me around the beggining of high school (2001). And now I have more home loyalty and Tennessee comes 2nd.

This is a UT fan forum so coming on here to prove that tOSU is better after two close games I would imagine is a waste of your time. Its impossible to be a fan of two schools IMO. Respect, yes but you can only love one school if you truely are a fan and not just casual.

Well then, when you put it that way. I LOVE the Buckeyes then, and casualy cheer for the vols. I know it is a vol message board, I was just getting tired of reading about how the refs handed the buckeyes the game when that was far from the truth. I know every team has sour grape fans, and the buckeyes have they're fair share of them too.

I'm not saying that all the ut fans where saying that they where better and that the refs screwed them, but it sure was coming out of the wood work the first couple of days by some of the fans.

The margin in free throws will make someone wonder about the refs.

That's to be expected when your team just loses the second game to the same team in heartbreaking fashion and you realize you shot a combined 28 FTs to your opponents' 55 FTs in the two games.

I think most of us were also just bummed that Conley got that foul call to shoot FTs and Ramar didn't on the last play, but we're more frustrated that we couldn't hit 2 more FTs and win.

OSU clearly has superior talent and the poise to pull out games at the end. And many of us gave them credit for hitting FTs where UT didn't. UT played harder than OSU for most of that game. Conley and Lewis were just too good.

We'll see what happens in Kville next year, and if we can stay highly ranked throughout the year, I'm sure we'll get the benefit of the doubt on a lot of calls.

I'd say, the refs have been horrible in this year's tournament.

1.) The no-call on Greg Olden's intentional foul in the final seconds against Xavier...if the refs make the right call, Xavier gets the free throws and the ball, game over....Ohio St. should not be in the final 4.

2.) Green's walk in the final 3 seconds of the Georgetown/Vanderbilt game. If the refs don't blow this game with another horrible no-call, Georgetown goes home.

When 2 of your final 4 teams are in because the refs blew calls in close games, you need to make some serious adjustments with how you handle your officiating. The NCAA should be humiliated by this tournament.

It really is not that har to say. UT is better than OSU. Not hard at all.

Tell me this and be honest. Did Ramar Smith not draw as much if not more contact in his drive to the basket as conely did?

It may not be hard to say, but is it true...? I honnestly can't remember what they play looked like when conley was fouled, and I thought it was just good D when conley was guarding smith in the last few seconds. Thats my honnest/non osu googels opinion because I was just too excited at the time to remember exactly what that play looked like. I think it's obvious to say that osu people are going to argue that conley was fouled and that he didn't foul smith and tenn fans will say that smith was fouled. I think that most tennessee fans would do the same thing though in that situation.

You know what my response to that is, don't you?! ... then quit reading a UT message board! Duh! I have never seen a winning team have so many fans who feel so compelled to defend their teams close win - Heck, it was two games ago, you would think OSU fans would be a little more focused on the upcoming Final Four match-up.

No, they realize their team is actually 2-2 in the tourny and somehow still in it.

I've been busy with work the last couple of days and today is my day off, so it's really the first chance i've had to say anything.

It's called guilt. They know how truly lucky they are. So do we...

I don't feel guilt, I feel great that we have a chance to play for the national championship. I'm sorry that tennessee had to go home, but you know what.. it happens

I'm here because I wanted to try to clear some things up. And have a respectable conversation, but as I said before.. they come out of the wood work!

Are you going to go on a Memphis board later?? 41-20 in free throws there... hmm

Maybe you'll stop by an Xavier board as well... I'm sure they will have a few things to say BUT according to you they should all just bow gracefully to the all powerfull Ohio State.

you are simply trolling, trying to stir up trouble.

You don't have to feel sorry about that. One team wins, and the other goes home. I do believe OSU is obviously better. I am glad UT made the sweet sixteen, but I figure out that's it. IMO, it's hard for UT to go any further than this if they keep the same personnel. Three-point can never kill the opponent, inside game is what's all about. UT needs to get 1) some guys who can control the inside game, and 2) some talented athletes who can attack the basket when it's needed, also who can match up with the athleticism from our opponent.

I'm not going to any other forums and i'm not trying to troll. I havn't said anything negative about tennessee, and i've given them praise. But when people talk foolish, i'm going to throw some facts at them. And you must not have watched the game against memphis, we didn't get the majority of those ft's until the last 2:30 because we drove and made contact along with memphis just fouling us every chance they had to stop the clock and hoping we would miss ft's; too bad for them we made 18 in a row and 26/28 in the 2nd half.

Thank goodness you came here and explained to us the free throw disparity, I hadn't realized that one yet.
