maybe I didnt explain well enough,I didnt mean it like that. What I am trying to say is when you have an important game like that you need to play as clutch as you possibly can and lead the team, but I didnt see any clutch play from him.
why do we need to show confidence in him and what would we base it upon? You just need to show confidence in Crompton as a Qb. He is a great player and he will shine sonner than later. Maybe the Florida game, I think he will suprise some of the doubters out there.

My confidence in Crompton, even if over the moon, makes 0 difference in his own confidence, which is my concern.

I'm sorry but Crompton does have what it takes, you can get mad and say I'm nuts but here's the explanation people. It was his first game really as a starter, would you not be nervous after a 1000 mile flight and then starting in front of a packed rose bowl crowd.
Why do I need to have confidence? So you'd just wanna throw him out in the pasture and forget about him. You gotta be behind whoevers in there so why not show him the confidence he needs to be successful
Why do I need to have confidence?
The entire realm of those who need confidence in him is on the field with him on Saturdays. Everyone else is immaterial.
