Waiting for Carolina to distastefully start playing..."I shot the sheriff" at practices etc.

I thought Gruden had something to do with the nickname. For years it seemed the only time I heard it was when Gruden was talking.

Thought it was John Madden who dubbed Peyton "The Sheriff" before that, but I stand corrected if this is truly accurate. :bow2:

Interesting how Archie's image has evolved to UT fans. He destroyed us in the Archie Who game in 1969, but is a folk hero now being the father of one of our greatest players.

Not complaining, just amazed at the transformation.

I often wonder how Archie and Steve Kiner get along, especially since Peyton became a Vol.

He wasnt afraid or ashamed to wear an orange shirt for four years while PM was here at school. I respect him for that.

If my son went to UF or Bama it would be very difficult to wear their colors. Would probably do it but feel very, very dirty.

Sorry, I would have to wear my orange to every game. Archie is a better man than I am.

I agree. Volnation has to give credit to Archie, I remember thinking during Peytons games, that ole piss fans would give him hell for wearing Tennessee gear.
