Very true, our LB's in chief's defenses did a fair to good job against the run in general but I feel a huge weakness in the Vol's D going back to '01 maybe was the poor job our LB's do in pass coverage in zones. They rarely closed passing lanes...heck the Gators feasted on 10 yard slants because our LB's were to slow. The D-line has to pressure just the 4 of them, or has had to to cause punts, then when they could'nt because of poor execution the weaknesses of the LB's stood out huge. I'd be screamin man if they can't cover in a 10 yard box blitz em up the middle geez!Orgeron would be a monstrous addition to this coaching staff.
Defensive line play, specifically in the pass rush, is critical to the success of Monte Kiffin's cover 2. We need a D-Line coach like Ed who can inspire his unit to play with ruthless aggression.
When florida spreads you out like that, you either have to get pressure with your front four or blitz. You hope the qb isn't smart enough to take advantage of where your blitzing from. In tebow's case he can figure it out.Very true, our LB's in chief's defenses did a fair to good job against the run in general but I feel a huge weakness in the Vol's D going back to '01 maybe was the poor job our LB's do in pass coverage in zones. Does anybody know what he is making at New Orleans?
To be honest I don't know and can't find a link that shows or hints at his salary. I have heard though that the Saints have supposedly talked raise possibilities for him to counteroffer his name being thrown out for potential college jobs, particulary here.
Yeah I heard the same, The Saints are gonna make us pay more to get him.
If they don't promote him to a higher position they have a ceiling they will pay that should be less than ours.
We will have to pay high end DC money to get him I think.
$350,000 to $500,000 range.
HV said Hubbs still thinks he is coming here. Should hear something next week.
Yeah Kiffin stated in his last interview that the staff should be completed sometime in Jan. Recruiting starts back up in Feb. right? So hopefully all goes well!
Monte Kiffin Wanting More Money From UT?

Our Jimmy Hyams has learned that Monte Kiffin will be paid MORE than $1 million to join his sons staff at Tennessee as defensive coordinator.
The elder Kiffin told his current team two weeks ago that he would be leaving the Buccaneers for the Volunteers and as Cris Collinsworth pointed out on NBCs Football Night in America, the Bucs immediately tanked.
It is believed by most that the deal for the elder Kiffin is done.
However, there are rumors in the wind that the senior Kiffin, who was expected to make $1 million, might have come back to Tennessee recently and asked for MORE money.
He makes $2.2 million with Tampa Bay. It is expected that his salary at UT could go as high as get this $1.5 million dollars.
So, will Monte be making more than a million because that was the original deal? Or did he come back and ask for more once the news broke that he was coming?
We may never know.
As we pointed out on this site three weeks ago, Tennessee is prepared to hire the most expensive staff in SEC history if thats what it takes.
Keep in mind, athletic director Mike Hamiltons rear is on the line right beside Lane Kiffin. Hell pay what it takes to ensure Kiffins success and his own survival.
In related news, Lane Kiffin had planned to attend the Oakland-Tampa Bay game this weekend, but his father has told him not to come because his presence would serve as a distraction.
