Orgeon Beat New Mexico 72-0!!!!!

Everytime that scrolled across the score board, I cringed.

However, if we beat Oregon, how beatable does FL look? We could start off 3-0 w/ two ranked teams falling to Dooley's blade!

I don't really give a ****, anyone who comes here and trys to spin their 72 point victory against a scrub team as any better than a 50 point victory should really not expect a great reception

They had 59 at half. That's better than 20 at half. No two ways about it.

Then again, it's not terribly unlike what we did to Memphis last year. . .

What part of Oregon's special teams did you like? I thought they were pretty sloppy.
I guess I am used to our ST's. Didn' get to see their punt team at all or the kickoff return team much (once) but they fielded 3 of 6 punts and took 2 to the house and ran back the other 9 yards. Their kickoff coverage was a bit spotty but not terrible. Kicker hit 3/4 field goals. Compared to what i'm used to watching every week for the last few years that's pretty awesome.

You do know that the score was already at 59 before halftime right?

If anything it sounds like they took their foot off the gas the second half

I haven't seen a game replay and am not sure exactly what UNM's coach was trying to do.... but they had 4 turnovers in the first qtr, gave up two punt returns for TD, and went for it on 4th 3 times near mid-field or in their own territory. I mean it was almost like he was trying to give up 100 pts or something.

How can you say we? Have you even been to Oregon before?

I say "we" because I'm an Oregon fan. I group myself in with other Oregon fans. Besides, typing "Oregon" or "the Ducks" takes too long. It's much easier to say "we" and everyone understands what I'm saying. I'm also a Dolphins and Braves fan but I've never been to Atlanta or Miami. What's your point?

I'd say you need to support your teams more

Wilcox beat Oregon last year 19-8. Held their hpower offense to 6 first downs.
I see no reason he can't do the same this year.

He doesn't have the same talent he had last season. You can scheme all you want but without the personnel it's pointless. Do you honestly think your defense this season is as good as Boise's was last season? Quit kidding yourself. They shut down TCU too, and I doubt Oregon or UT could do that last year.

Oregon is a 44 hour drive, Miami is a 14 hour drive, and Atlanta is a 5 hour drive. Flying is too expensive for an 18 year old college student to consider doing. Just because I haven't seen any of them play in person doesn't mean I don't support them. Some of us aren't lucky enough to live in close enough proximity to our favorite teams to get there in a short drive.

That's unfortunate. I will not be cheering for him.

Unless of course it's to get injured. May sound classless but I hate the Blount's, Vick's, Roethlisberger's etc. of the world. Maybe it makes me no better but at least I don't go around throwing punches at people because I'm a baby. :p

I think Michael Vick is great. One of the most talented collegiate players of all time.

P.S. I hate Peta

PETA literally makes me sick. Some of the most insane people I've ever had the displeasure of encountering.

As for Mike Vick? Cats > Dogs anyway. :ermm:

surely you jest

No, I'm serious.

Vols win as I said before long trip to knoxville plus 100,000 fans .Tennessee knows how much this means they will play with there heart and chip on there shoulder .They have bought into the trust message of CDD.They want to be back on top .Win this game heads will turn VOLS YOU CAN SOAR GO VOLS!!

"Agreed. And UTM went 8-5 last year, not 1-11 like NM. We just played with more class in the fourth and decided 50 was enough."

Congrats on your 50 points. We had 59 at the half. We had all our starters out halfway through he 2nd quarter.

Everyone on our team played that was eligible to play. Including the walkons.

We had our runningback/WR playing quarterback in the 4th quarter.

Not sure what else we could have done to "Not run up the score."

Running up the score would have meant us keeping our starters in until the 4th and dropping 100 on them which I have no doubt we could have done yesterday.

This is going to be a battle no doubt.

Darron Thomas looked decent but not spectacular. He had 2 drops but also over threw a couple of open WRs. He had a pick that wasnt his fault but he also threw for 2 TDs.

You look at his overall numbers and go, not a great game but not bad either. People dont realize he put up over 200 yards passing and 2 tds in a quarter and a half. He didnt play after that. He has thrown for 400+ yards and 5 TDs in 2 1/2 quarters so far in his career if you count the 4th quarter of the 2008 Boise St game as well as the quarter and a half yesterday.

Not to bad.

We havent seen him run the ball yet but im sure we will see what he can do in that department this coming week.

Looking forward to it.

Can watch the game here if you want to see it.

I'm going to guess that you are pretty young... and that explains your relative ignorance.

There is absolutely, positively no question whatsoever that Wilcox has more talent on this D than he EVER had in Boise. It isn't even close.

The question is how well they've adapted to his system and how much a lack of real game experience will hurt.

But if you question whether UT is bigger, faster, stronger, etc than what CJW has been working with in Boise... then I'm not sure how anyone can help you.

UTM was outmanned completely but they were well coached. Their D was usually in position or attempting to do their assignment. They didn't make alot of mistakes... they just got beat.

UNM played horribly and were coached worse. They were consistently out of position, made many mistakes, and have no talent.

LMAO at this crap ^^

UTM team is 70% freshmen. Only 2 seniors suited up. Bottom line Oregon destroyed a FBS school, and Tennessee killed a FCS school... Put it like this, there is no way that UTM was scheduled as a home opener for competition.

Tn's problems aren't in the talent area, nor were they last year. You're listening too much to the media.
Wilcox actually has better talent here than he had at Boise.
Check the stats and quit kidding yourself.
You'll see the difference tonite. VT beats Boise without wilcox.

You know what's gayer than arguing over who had the better blowout against weak teams(we took our starters out earlier etc)?

Being a duck fan in TN.

New mexico is worthless, coached by mike locksley, former UF coach. He'll probably be fired this year after a bunch of losses and other off the field issues last year.
