If you take a step back I think you'll notice that few have accused you of running up the score. Like you said, can't start taking a knee in the second quarter.

It wasn't so much people accusing us of running up the score as it was it being inferred that Tennessee didn't.

I'll be there, and I have no doubt it'll be a great game. I just hope for Tennessee's sake they have someone who can stop LaMichael James and Kenjon Barner. If not, it'll be over quickly.

Yes, the 2 finest backs in America, UT won't see so much talent all year. Has this game been called yet, If not I'm suprised. Nothing like the tradition of a program like the Ducks in of the land. Is UT getting paid by Oregon to play this game by the by?

Fix your grammar before you try and school someone. If you're supposed to be insulting me it's not working because I can't even figure out what you're trying to say.

New Mexico is little better than a Div 2 team. Don't get too excited about 72 points there.

Yes, but we're running behind the same 5 who blocked for us last season. You aren't the same defense you were last year, but we're a better running team than we were last season. We have one of the deepest backfields in the country, behind a veteran offensive line. I'm not questioning your defense as much as I am stating that we're a phenomenal running team.

Then that would be the same o-line and backs who thumped out 31 yards on 17 carries against Boise St last year? Not sure that qualifies as "phenomenal." But I do see another parallel between that game and this year as I'm sure do you.

its going to come down to strength against strength. Our good running game against oregons tough defense. Oregons great running game against our tough defense. I think theirs is better so my official prediction is 31-20 oregon. I think both teams are a lot better than most people think.

Who are you to insult, Im simply bowing to your superiority of talent. Thanks for the schooling though

New Mexico won ONE game last year. We could have hung 70 on UTM without much problem.

Not busting you, but Oregon called off the dogs, it was 59-0 at halftime. If Oregon had tried they literally could have scored upwards of 90 on them.

I'm not insulting anything about you. I'm just saying that you shouldn't try to be cute if no one can decipher what you're trying to say.

Tis true is this, NM simply had no anwsers for anything they OU did. Once a back broke containment, it was over. Other than a OU back tripping over the yard marker, it was like a track meet.

Neither LaMichael James nor Kenjon Barner were feature backs at that time. Legarrette "Knock Out" Blount was playing then.

And no offense, but Boise > UT. :ermm:

I see no parallel. Boise is, and was, CLEARLY superior to the Vols and Ducks then and now. What are you trying to say? That us playing an away game against a very young team breaking in a completely new coaching staff is anywhere near the setting of last year's game at Boise? So you have Justin Wilcox? Big deal! If you don't have the talent on the field then it means nothing. We grew up a lot after that game and look where it got us. A Pac-10 Championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl where we, again, lost to a superior opponent. Where did you all end up? 7-6 after getting demolished in the Chick-fil-A Bowl by a superior opponent. Defining the talent of our offensive line and running backs in the first game of the season is illogical. What did we do after that? I believe LaMichael James averaged 6.7 yards per carry, set the freshman Pac-10 rushing record, and had 14 rushing TDs.

None taken, particularly since Boise > Oregon.

I think its quite obvious what the "parallel" is, the DC's are the same. Thats it, he said nothing more. It may not amount to anything other than Wilcox has some first hand knowledge of the OU offense, and the outcome is already written in stone, we get all the other stuff, sheeeez.

I look at how Oregon beat NM state and have a lot less worries than most I guess.

They scored 59 points in the first half

2 came on long punt returns.. Something I don't think will happen against us. Whine all you want about shallow kickoffs our punt game is fine and both coverage teams looked both impressive and hungry.

They scored 8 TD's in the first half... 6 came on big plays. they only had 3 drives of over 5 plays n the first half. Those 3 drives were INT, Passing TD for 3 yards and a field goal.

Basically they came up against a really bad defense. Talk all the crap you want to about UTM but their defense though not SEC caliber was not as terrible as New Mexico. Their might not have had the athletes we had but their guys wee in the right place most of the time. New Mexico looked confused all game.

We took out most of our starters with a couple of minutes left in the 2nd quarter and we still could have put up 100+ if we really had tried to run up the score with our 2nd and 3rd string. With that being said New Mex. is not very good and I think there are other teams out there that could put up huge point totals on them as well.
Looking forward to the game next week and taking in the UT experience. I'm expecting a win (Guess that's the homer in me) but also expecting a battle.

Ducks - 27
Vols - 20

a good showing for the ducks, but not only is our d playing pretty agressive, we have coach wilcox, who is very familar with the quack attack. Great job tonight guys. outstanding!

I like Wilcox, and would trade Roof for him in a heartbeat. The SEC East looks wide open this year.
