We were running the ball, defense made some plays and our starters are so inexperienced they had to play and if you would fact check by looking at the game stats you would see that we rotated a lot of players
Thanks for playing though

Neither the Ducks nor the Vols intentionally ran up the score. Both the 72 point game and the 50 point game were the results of playing against absolutely terrible defenses that couldn't stop the simplest of plays.
That's all. Move on.

Well, friend the difference between a 72 point victory and a 50 point victory is pretty much negligible

it was also 59-0 at halftime which is insane. They are a dynamic football team with playmakers all over the field. They are one of the best teams in america. Why people think that if we lose to them we are a terrible team and our whole season is down the drain is beyond me. That being said we are alot better than people think and i expect this to be a highly competitive 4 qtr football game. Neyland should be rocking with optimism. Lets go vols

The polls tell the story friend. If you think this victory won't look better than us demolishing Portland State in a couple weeks then you're mentally unstable.
What are we even talking about here? The polls? Or the quality of opponents that we faced tonight? The bottom line is, and I think the Oregon fan put it best, is that both teams just took two very inferior teams to the woodshed tonight. And I really don't think it matters what the final scores for each game were. I mean, Tennessee easily could've scored more points in the fourth quarter. But we ran the clock out instead. Oregon putting up 72 against New Mexico doesn't tell us anything about how they'll fare against Tennessee. Just like Tennessee putting up 50 against Martin doesn't tell us anything about how they'll fare against Oregon.
All we know right now is that Oregon has some playmakers and is a solid team, and Tennessee has some good young players but is still building the foundation. The rest won't be settled until next Saturday.
GO VOLS!
Exactly, I was commenting on how people seemed to think that our victory was equally impressive as Tennessee's and how we "ran up the score." I never said that how badly we beat New Mexico had any affect on how we'll play Saturday or that by Tennessee not scoring more points on a lesser opponent meant anything negative towards them regarding the game on Saturday. I'm just defending my team as you all are.
We have weaknesses, but defense isn't one of the larger.
