Oregon Game Thoughts- Congrats Ducks.

I was at the game (my thoughts).

I know the team is young but I question the coaches and leadership. Losing yes. Falling apart...never should happen.

Oregon is pretty young as well. They are also pretty good!

I don't know much about the SEC and who you guys hate in your league...but we hate USC! Their coach seems to be a real a$$.

I have been to lots of stadiums around the country. Autzen is special. It doesn't have have 100,000 seats but I have never been in a stadium where have of those seats are worth it anyway.

Oregon is about 60,000 with 12, 000 planned in the near future. They are just finishing there $250,000,00 bball arena.

One thing amazing about the Great Northwest...ZERO HUMIDITY!

THANKS FOR THE VISIT!

Hey, great game! Vols have a lot of good things to look forward to - the team handled the 1st half and made the 1st quarter their b**** with run after great run. That's what I expected from SEC football, and it was delivered. Ultimately a really good team (at least, I think so) with a lot of returning experience in both players and coaches, and a TON of depth, won over a young team who has been through three different head coaches over the last three years (Kiffin sucks). All the best for you in your conference this season, I think it will be a successful season for you.

I'll be on and off this board like I have been (haven't been told to leave yet, hah!), but I'll def. come say hi during Oregon v. USC week and talk Kiffin smack.

Classy post. You're welcome back anytime.

Wasn't at the game, but really enjoyed it.
The Vols certainly gave my Ducks a very hard time.
UT will absolutely be a good team this year, and probably a great team next year. I certainly would like to see you Vols win your division. Although I've mostly just lurked around here, You all seem to be some of the classiest fans in CFB. Cheers to you all, and a great game played.

We'll do our best to dispatch Kiffin, and add a kick to the chest for you.

Appreciate the thought, but you guys had a convincing defeat over what is possibly the least talented Tennessee team in decades. Hopefully Dooley will figure it out and have a better game by 2013. I have a feeling the first quarter is a result of Chip Kelly having absolutely no idea what we were going to do -- close to impossible to tell where any of our strengths or weaknesses were or how we were going to play.

even though it would have been great to upset oregon....i think we have alot to look forward 2. it was oviouse that our talent one on one in the first was supirior but they just had 2 much depth. they where subing like a russian space station and we had no one to sub with. dooley won me over tonight...thats all i can say im sorry im just heat broken and damn proud of my boys... i know they busted their butt for us all tonight....

Im pretty sure there is an interview of CK from a day or two ago, where he states pretty much verbatim what you just said. He said they had no idea what to expect, so they were going to prepare for a wide array of 'dooley+wilcox+monte'

Say what you want about chip, but you will rarely hear all coach speak from him. I truly believe he had no concrete game plan going in to this.

I suppose that's one way to put it. Another perspective
i would suggest is more of a Jeet Kun Do
"go with the flow' sort of game plan.

Like i said. He assumed he could potentially expect some dooley+wilcox+kiffin, but he really didn't know what to expect overall.

Not going to lie. That first quarter made me reach for the good scotch.

I hope the Vols have a great season. Wish I could have made it out to the game. From everything I've seen/read, they were great hosts and have an amazing program/fans. Look forward to having them out to Eugene in a couple years.

They beat us. Ill admit that. Does anyone think the halftime score is different if the rain delay never happens?

Not sure, but i do know at the time of the rain delay we had them on the ropes and they were able stand in their corner over an hour before having to come back out. I think its safe to say in no way did it help us.

I saw a few Oregon fans wear " We hate Lane Kiffin too" shirts. :thumbsup

Me, too. I also saw a couple of dbags wearing USC shirts, a father and his kids with Florida jerseys, and a couple of 'billies with Vtech hats on. Anyhoo, I was impressed with the patience of Oregon's QB.

Thanks.

Apologize in advance for any dumb ducks coming over here and crowing.

It looked an awful lot like Tenn might run Oregon out of the stadium for a quarter and a half.

I am very pleased with the poise of our new QB Darron Thomas. I felt he kept Oregon in the game in the first half by making a few plays and not forcing anything.

Thanks. Congrats. I'm all for your ducks ripping the Pac-10 to pieces and neutering the Trojans especially.

No. We were outmanned and outgunned from the start. It was only a matter of time for it to become self-evident.

But our real enemy was the fact our QB couldn't pass effectively.

Good first half...Played a top ten team. Second half we were gassed. We are only as strong as our physical/mental game will allow us to be.

Neyland Stadium is magnificent, we won't play in a finer house this year.

Good luck next week against Florida.

I haven't watched Oregon play a whole lot, but I was very impressed with how they were able to get plays from the sideline and snap the ball so quickly. I've never seen a "fast break" offense like that in football.

:rock:Great game! Hated to lose but have to hand it to Oregon. They have a great team that wore us down. Can't wait until 2013. Hopefully we can return the favor by then.
