The reason that Oregon may have arrived last night is because of their higher altitude? Does anyone know if neyland is higher above sea level than Eugene? If Eugene is higher than once they come " down" here their bodies will produce more red blood cells. They had a problem with athletes doing things like this in the olympics a while back. But does anyone know the elevation? By the way the time difference doesn't matter it
is just like they are playing at three instead of 7. Maybe their sleep will screw up. But if anyone knows please comment. And really forget about ball let's play some football.

Ps woah I just saw dooley on a gameday thing

Knoxville is actually about twice the elevation of Eugene. Just Wikipedia both cities and you will find their elevations.

Smokey, its three hours time difference not four and Eugene is pretty close to sea level at around 400 feet.

Eugene, Oregon's elevation is 430 ft. It's pretty much resides in a valley-floor environment, flanked by rising foothills which turn to mountains to the south, east (cascades), and west ( the coastal range )

So Eugene itself is a unique temperate-rainforest climate, which seems to be perpetually covered by clouds and for for 85% of the year, being that it is the end "mouth" of a valley. Yup. We would have great air quality here, but we end up with all the smog from Portland, Salem, and Albany.

Any players that have lived here a while will have dealt with breathing in some of the WORLD'S worst pollen-filled air. Which may condition them for playing in places without such high pollen-count and numerous other allergens, which included industrial grass seed production 'field burns'

So we may not have an advantage do to any elevation.
I think any rain advantage goes both ways.
And if you guys have decent air quality, Ducks may have a very slight advantage due to not having to breath in pollen, grass seed, forest fire smoke, and a billion random allergens and molds.
...meh.

If advantages are limited to pollen count, LOL, I'm not worried. That's a reach FTW.

I live in Chattanooga, and as I remember, it's the 3rd most air-pollentated city in the nation behind 1.) Louisville, KY, and 2.) KNOXVILLE, TN!!!!

WOOT!!! I can't believe we're cheering for pollen counts. I'm outta here. Gotta hit the road for PRE-GAMING AT THE HALF BARREL!!! GO BIG ORANGE!!!

That sucks, here we have nice pure, fresh mountain air. Except for the nuclear radiation from Oak Ridge that is :)

oregon being #7 and being able to score 50 pts is the advantage. we will need to play our AAA+ game. take 3 good showers, and have fulmer give a pre game speech. with saying all that i am hoping we pull it out.

all this weather, humidity, pollen, elevation isn't going to mean a thing by gametime. the team that executes the best on offense and defense will win. they both have to play to the conditions and all other aspects. i hope no one thinks just because it's going to be humid, it will be to our advantage because it won't !!! GO VOLS !!!!! :hi: :salute: :salute::pepper: :pepper:

Pollen-count absolutely correlates with air-quality, which i am sure that it can be a factor, although a minute one.

One of the years Prefontaine ran for a chapionship at hayward field, the grass seed fields were burning, and i believed to took in the W that day, coughing blood from the burning pesticides and grass particulate in the air that day.

wishing for high humidity is crazy for a team that is short handed on personal. Montori will be gassed after 4 plays and his backup will be on the field. Which backup? Who knows...

Tennessee fans, WE do NOT want high humidity this evening...

It's not enough altitude to make any difference. I wish it were a day game, because the heat/humidity would definitely be a + for the Big Orange...

Maybe they did it for the +3hr time difference and to get in some rest after the long flight instead of going right to work? It's easier going east to west coast then west to east IMO. I know I'm always out of it when I go back home from Vegas...

I grew up at 2,000 ft elevation, and I remember competing at elevations of 4,500 and 5,000 ft and could really feel the difference.

Right now, from my window I can see mountains that are 7,200ft and 9,300 ft tall... gotta love Oregon!
