their dl biggest guy is 289... there is the possibility that hot shot true freshman hemuili? will play and not be redshirted... the size of their linebackers makes me think we could have a mismatch speed wise with oku and poole catching passes 5 to 7 yards downfield

oregon's run d and their front 7 are very very good. the way to beat them is in the air

they mostly exposed the secondary, not the front 7.

Good point.

By the way, good luck to Cal this year against USC. In fact, good luck to EVERYONE who plays USC this year (and every year until they change coaches).

Oregon is returning 18 starters from last years Rose Bowl team. We will have our hands full. We will have to play mistake free football to have a chance.

I'd have to agree with this, hopefully moving Pleasant back helps.

no secret what we are going to try to do, shut down the run and make simms prove he can beat us thru the air.

should be interesting

I am not very optimistic that we will be able to do much on offense. I really just hope our O manages the game well and plays not to lose.

My hope for a victory for UT in this game comes from the other side of the ball...if we can somehow stop your running game (will be tough with our Dline situation) and get your QB's to make mistakes then we will have a chance to keep it close.

If we keep it close into the second half I hope that the pressure of being favorites/choking and Neyland can then become factors.

We aren't going out talent Oregon..just gotta play to the stengths that we have in the game situtaion.

Tennessee has a pretty big size advantage in the trenches.

However, the way Oregon uses stunts and blitzes is going to confuse the hell out of the 1st year starters out there.

It will be interesting to see if Tennessee can bulldoze the small OL of the Ducks. It's very much a speed vs size thing between the TN OL and the UO DL.

Oregon has alot of returning starters? In their depth chart there is alot of 1st time letter winners as starters and their depth is weak and inexperienced and unproven. Any injuries may cause them problems. If our linebackers fill their gaps our dbs tackle we should be alright. They are a speed team and I bet they will look for mismatches for their speed. I don't think will try to run downhill at us. It will all be quick hitting outside stuff with draw plays, screen plays and trickery looking to get their speed on the perimeter.

i wouldn't bet on it. most of those guys return and did very well against some very good olines and rbs last year.

I know this is a simple concept but Wilcox has said his key to stopping the spread is very good open field tackling. He says that he can scheme us to allow us to have a LB free to make the tackle but they have to be able to make them in space.

If we can have sound open field tackling in this game we can stop them, if we start having and Ole Miss last year tackling experience it will get ugly quick.

#88 Brandon Bair was an absolute beast of a DT when I played against Oregon on NCAA '10. Couldn't run up the middle at all. Let's hope the game isn't a true representation.

he is a beast, rivals has him listed at #15 in their nfl draft DT list. we are praying he has another year like 09, DT isn't one of our deep spots, an injury here would be devastating.

Anyway we can borrow him for the SEC schedule and fly him out west for your games in time for kickoff after ours?:)
