Orangeslice13, a blessing to those around him…..Again

So...this jewy rigging two structures together with toe nailed 2x6's keeps one from toppling over?

Props for not doing house chores in yoga pants though. lol.
Actually I’m putting a roof over the opening between the two. It drops 1 inch per foot to shed water. And will have hangers.

I award you 3 VN points for “Jewy rigging “

Pre-race, announcer says Texas got it, through the race, shouting Florida, final swimmers, look at Tennessee! Yeah, buddy, Go Vols!
The 3rd and 4th legs were both world record pace.
That’s Fing ridiculous.

When I was ranked top 20 in the country (ya, I was fast) I went 45.9 for the 100 freestyle. To put this in perspective this relay averaged 40.5.

Fing ridiculous

Dang, you were a competitive swimmer? Quite cool. My neice was a swimmer for a long time into her high school years. The school system did/does not have a sanctioned swim sport, but the city operated a competitive city swim team from wee little ones on up to HS competitiion ages. They competed at the primary city park swimming pool that was also lined off and set up for swimming and diving events. She was quite good, but I don't think she was that fast. She was a fish. Got pics of her when she was 3 swimming underwater with her eyes open already. She was rather lackluster about booting a college career and never pursued trying to get on a swim team. Took her 10 years to get a degree, then went to work for American Airlines. She's got about 10 years tenure now, so she does good, and gets to pick the better flights now. Dosn't have to fly as much to make more money.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I won 5 state championships in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle. I also may or may not be the proud owner of a coon skin cap that I could have earned at my glorious university.

Go Vols!!

We are and have always been among the very best in swimming. It all started when we hired a high school football coach from Red Bank to coach swimming.

@MontyPython can tell you who that was.
Ray Bussard. He came to UT to be a football coach. Somehow that didn’t pan out so they told him hey we’re starting to swim team. Do you want to be head coach? He took the job despite having basically no experience whatsoever swimming. That was 1972 I believe. He won the national championship in 1977.

The man scared the living **** out of me.

I attended swim meets in the mid to late 70s. Did I see you compete?

My 2 youngest were swimmers, youngest still is. I thought I was in good shape, until I raced them 😆. I mean, I'm in pretty good shape to be knocking on 50, but swimming is a different beast.
