Just saw your post in the PF. Not that it helps, but thinking about you, friend. Be strong. Thanks for the prayers and thoughts.
Hospice is involved now.
We believe he had a stroke about 3:30 yesterday. I got there about 4:15. We were able to get mom there quickly. He opened his eyes one last time and was able to say “I love you “ to my mother with what I believe will be his last words. He has not passed yet but that could be any time.
Getting old is brutal when severe vascular dementia is your diagnoses.
He’s a peace and resting comfortably. That’s all I could hope for at this point.
Thanks again y’all
Same way with my mom 3 years agoThe facility that JayBird had moved into is top notch. Everyone here is professional and obviously cares about what they do. It’s hard to believe how many quality people work here considering how hard it is to get staff.
Having said that.
The coffee here is gawd awful.
JayBird is very peaceful now. I have not left his side since the stroke. He would not have left mine. Small slow breaths 4seconds apart. It won’t be long now.
Death is always hard but we have been blessed with peace. Thanks to everyone and their prayers through all this.
ExactlyMy experience with Hospice caring for my mother cannot be explained to serve it justice. They were angels sent from heaven. I get choked up and teary-eyed just thinking about it.
During this difficult time you couldn't ask for anything more.
Imagine if we were all like that.Exactly
Torah says that sometimes there are angels around to test or to bless. Torah also says angels are “messengers of G-d” under that definition, these people are definitely angels. Just not the spiritual ones.
I’ve thanked G-d for them more than once.
Nice choice of scripture.Imagine if we were all like that.
Philippians 2:4-8 NSAB
4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. 5 Have this attitude [a]in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but [c]emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and [d]being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death [e]on a cross.
Yep.Nice choice of scripture.
I like the letter to the Philippians a lot.
3:13-14
Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: (AF)forgetting what liesbehind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I (AG)press on toward the goal for the prize of the (AH)upward call of God in (AI)Christ Jesus.
My interpretation.
“I’m not perfect and never will be this side of life. Even so I am working for that goal as the example set by the Messiah.
If you need to talk about it I can be a supportive friend. So sorry to hear Slice. My dad is going through the same thing. Dementia is awful and he is on a decline that seems to be getting faster. My family will keep you and yours in our prayers.
If you need to talk about it I can be a supportive friend.
And that was our experience. The last 4-6 weeks decline has been unbelievable
