@OrangeRedblooded

@Orangeredblooded, I’m an earnest person. I’m not mean spirited or calloused. I don’t have a cultivated online presence different from who I am. I joined VN looking to meet fellow Vols fans. So far, I’ve met Exie and Joe. I’d be pleased to meet you one day (I will retire in 2023 and have more time for short journeys).

Death has been ever present in my life during the past 90 days. Two of my sisters-in-law’s mother-in-laws died. My son-in-law’s mother (my peer) died suddenly. My brother-in-law’s mother died. My mother died. My nieces newborn child died. I do not have a cavalier attitude about death and have been immersed in loss and grief since October. Christmas Day, I went for a walk with my son-in-law to have a candid conversation about our tasks as executors of our mothers’ estates.

I don’t want to have a conversation about Behr. I do want you to know that my “real life” perspective on death is informed by all too real experiences.

Be well and happy in 2023.

@Orangeredblooded, I am beset with grief and loss yet again. Saturday last, my best friend from work suffered cardiac arrest and did not recover. He was years younger than me. The shock and loss and sadness…

It went well. Today hasn’t been a good day, but it will get better.
Take it one day at a time. The peripheral healing with the hip is a lot worse than a knee, at least for me. You don't have to worry about range of motion. Tough part is going to be getting the muscles back in shape. You can email me if you want to talk or ask any questions. I'll help best I can. Take the pain meds as they describe, don't let it get bad and try to catch up.;)

I refused pain medication until right before I was released. That was stupid.
