Orange & White Game...(merged)

I went to the spring game last year for the first time in a long time, because Kiffin had me hopeful with all his talk of winning championships and with his hall of fame dad on board.

This time around, I can't really get excited enough to go. Maybe it's because Dooley is coming off a 4-8 season in the WAC. Maybe it's because Dooley hasn't said anything about winning anything. Maybe it's because our coaching staff has no big names left. Regardless, Dooley's got to win something that matters before I get excited again.

Nice Thread I came on here to create a simular thread minus copying Bammers. Lets start the rally for the support for Dooley now and blow the rest of the SEC away which will also send a message to Lane who? we don't need you. We are the University of Tennessee. Lets pack Neyland and V-O-l-S and Go VOLS !

I went last year. I also took my 2 year old to the fan day before the game...There is a lot of room for improvement. Not saying I won't go this year, but the fan day thing was about as poorly planned as it could be. Maybe they underestimated the crowd, I got there on time, it was pointless. Half the players and coaches acted like they'd rather be somewhere else. You can't possibly herd 10,000 people through one gate to meet players in an hour. They should have the game at noon with fan day on the field afterwords...as they did when I was a kid.

If we hire Saban, I think we can get a sellout, but that's not the way Hammy thinks. Saban is no diamond in the rough. He's already proven. No way Hammy can make a name for himself by hiring a guy like that.

You should have applied for the position then. Now THAT would have made Hamilton look good!

I'm going to the game. I don't care if I'm there by myself...:good!:

I'm all for starting a movement but they need to make an effort too. The first thing they should do is open spring practice up to the public. They ought to sell hotdogs, let people tweet/report etc...

The "hire the abrasive jerk mercenary coach" thing ... we already did that, last year, and you see how that turned out. :stop:

I agree but it wont happen. I have heard Dooley try's to keep a tight ship. Much like Saban.

As previously stated, it did sell out last year. The capacity was just cut in half due to construction. I had numerous friends that tried to go and were turned away at the gate because it was sold out.

i forgot about the construction. didn't realize that though. if true, my apologies

I agree that it could be planned better. It is easier for a large crowd to get in quicker in Neyland and more room for players and coaches to spread out. If you can get in stands, you can then spot areas with small crowds so you can get around and see more. I didn't care at all for long lines just to get in Haslam and then it seemed like most were getting ready to leave for game. There will be alot of excitement this year and hope whoever plans it can make it as fan friendly as possible.
