I am planning to attend the Orange & White game April 16th for the 1st time. Is this an all out game day with Vol Walk etc ? Can anyone fill me in on details of the day ?

Any lunches or dinners in Knoxville that Thursday/Friday (April 14/15) where Dooley may be addressing folks ?

Thanks

Yeah I went in '09 and it was a full game, pretty sure they had the vol walk. The band came in and sat in their normal spot and played. It was pretty fun.

Have been to the last two. Yes - they do the Vol Walk, probably the band. It is fun because everybody plays. Pretty scripted though because they want to see what player strengths/weaknesses they have at specific positions. So very little in the way of blitzs, trick plays, etc. Dooley took the approach of having two seniors choose up sides like we did as kids at recess. Made for some interesting teams. Had celebrity coaches last year with Adams and Hyams.

The autograph session at the practice field is pretty cool. There will be hard choices as to whose autograph you really want to get. The bigger the name(s) the longer the line.

I've been to the majority of them the last ten years or so. They usually do a Vol Walk. The autograph thing beforehand is cool, especially if you have kids. Remeber though the game itself is a glorified practice, so it kinda has the feel of a meaningless baseball game to it.

Haha. It's still football though. Nothing like the anticipation for the upcoming season between April and september. Be sure you pick a line and stay in it if you get autographs, especially qbs or Wrs this year or you may walk empty handed.

Haha yeah I agree. It's a really good opportunity to watch how certain players are doing and not be worried about the score, etc.

You are in for a treat. This is a fun weekend. Also Pigeon forge is having its annual Rod-run that same weekend. If you like classic cars you will love this event.:peace2:

I love the O&W. Orange and white everywhere and the Vols win every time.

Just prepare for any kind of weather.

Yeah, they get a coaches line going, and it's usually the longest... At least it has the last couple of seasons with there being a new coach. If you want a Dool-Aid autograph, you better get over there QUICK. They have been putting stricter time limits on the autograph session the last couple of years as well. It's a good idea in general to get over there fairly early. Also, make sure you get one of the fan packs they sell/give out. Lots of good posters and autograph material in there as well. It's really fun, so DONT MISS IT! :loco:
