There is no such rule, and no Boise was not "grandfathered," the rule doesn't exist.

Orange is a big tradition on the hill. Some times more is better. One game every other year, is not cause to throw in the towel on the tradition of green grass. That's really not a tradition as much as an after thought. Who says grass has got to be green. If only Dobbs was a Biologist, he could invent orange grass. I would put it in my yard.

May work... it would be like our db's were wearing camo with an orange field and all orange uni's. Terrible day for the Bubba qb. LoL

What's worse is those that believe, that others think it is real.

It would be awesome. And like some other poster suggested, have PM do donut on the 50 yd line after the win. And checker board the staidium.

I TRULY apologize if y'all have already discussed this, and you probably have, but I can't STAND to watch Boise State at home and I'll watch anything else.

I don't want that reputation for UT.......the Checkerboard is sufficient.

p.s.....outlaw B.S. blue fields!!!! (can we start a petition?)

False. The NCAA has no rules regarding turf color.

That said, we are going to have a natural grass surface for the foreseeable future, so there will be no orange turf.

Dudes, no worries. This was from a Vol for Life page on Facebook. The guy who made it was awfully proud, but it's reception was well.... a different story. It hurts my eyes lol

There is no rule, but my understanding is that Boise State has Trademark on any "non-green field". As in, it's their gimmick and no one else can use it without permission from them. They have approved other non-green fields, but denied some too.

That said, this would be horrible in my opinion.
