Yeah, that definitely wasn't Bobby Denton. I haven't heard that he's retiring from being our announcer, maybe he had other obligations today.

today was great. my 4 yr old loved it. i surprised her with a Eric Berry Replica jersey right before we got to campus. She thought she was tough wearing orange like everyone else. Wish we could have gotten Eric to sign it. But dang he is definately a Rock Star. The line was 5 miles long. What is up with Erics Go Tee?

We werent able to get into Haslam until 30 minutes were left.

Got a Kiffin autograph though. So I accomplished one of the goals...lol

Got her picture taken with Smokey. So at least she got to meet two of the stars. Kiffin and smokey.

VOL Walk was awesome. I was so stoked I missed pictures. Berry flew by me before I realized it. Then at the end everyone started moving next thing I know Monte pups up right in front of me. I said Hey Coach and shook his hand then he was gone. I was like crap I didnt get a picture....lol

Was not happy with the way the University handled the crowd. They should have had more vendors selling drinks and the bathroom situation outside of Haslam was terrible. Hope they plan it out better for the fans next time.

But this was a great experience and will definately make some more O and W games in the future.

I was really upset that Berry didn't play today, though I kind of expected it. And I agree that the concession situation was a little underplanned. My mother did get the opportunity to experience how bad the pretzels were though.

They aren't used to 50,000 people at this game. They're used to under 30k, and more like 20k...

if you look through the game photos on utsports.com, it looks as if they're wearing actual game day jerseys... there is a photo of Coleman and it shows his torch patch, which I thought was only a part of game day jerseys..?

Yeah, I think CLK wanted to make it as much like a game day experience as possible....and at times it did feel like a game day. I thought it was funny on the 4th down of the goal line stand in the first half when the defense was trying to get the crowd to be loud and the o-line was trying to get them to be quiet all at the same time. It was hard to decide who to root for! The defensive stop down there was awesome though.

well, if they were wearing game day jerseys, that means Kiffin decided to remove the names, right? I like they way it looked either way.

I think Kiffin, the staff, the AD and fans did a fantastic job making today feel like a real game day. When they ran out of the tunnel, and the band belted out Rocky Top, the hair on my neck and arms stood up. Just like it does on Saturdays in the Fall. I'd love to hear Kiffins initial impressions of Neyland and the fans today.

I don't remember exact quotes, but on the postgame interview, he said that it felt more like he was going to the Orange Bowl than to a spring game during the Vol Walk, and how great the environment was.

Forgive my laziness, but why didn't Berry play. My Bro and I were speculating and he said he had not heard anything about him being hurt. I said they were probably more worried Berry would hurt someone.

He had surgery on his shoulder earlier in the offseason. I think he would have been ok to play, but they wanted to hold him out just in case.

I agree, they were not expecting that many people. Also, the pretzels were not very good either. When the team took the field, i about lost it.
