One thing I just realized looking at our starting line ups for tomorrow, we only have 2 seniors on offense! That means we have a team going through a lot of adversity that will pretty much be intact next year. Defense isnt much worse with I believe 5 seniors starting. I think we are really hard on this team not realizing how young they are. These highly regarded recruiting classes have the next year or two to really grow. The question is, do we want Fulmer leading them or do we make the change after this year and let these kids grow with a young, hungry coach?

A new coach.

I think everyone would agree we have a hungry coach. Sorry couldn't resist.

i agree with you about this. which to me, is all the more reason to bring someone in here that can do something with what we have. if anything, at this point, this tells me that this would be a good time to bring in someone else, so they could come in with the cupbard still relatively full and be able to compete in a much shorter time span vs. what someone like Butch Davis, Nick Saban or Randy Shannon has to deal with right now.

There is no doubt that next year we will have a very "talented" team with some experience. The potential is there. The question most people have is whether or not this coaching staff can turn the talent and experience we will have next year into productivity. If Crompton develops and becomes a steady QB next season our offense "should" be very good. Our defense has tons of young talent that falls into the same boat. Talent and experience will be there next year. Will there be productivity out of that equation though?

as i see it today, no.

Depth might still be a problem next year.

Not to nit pick, but there are actually 3 important senior starters on offense- Ainge, Young, and Brown. Next year will really be up to how Crompton develops, defensive improvements, and a special teams coach.

good point, i think all of us are just having to bank on one of three qb's behind EA stepping up and being just fine. at this point, with Crompton having been here for 3 years now, if he can't come in and be what we have all heard him to be, that would be very disappointing.

we have other QBs too. It'll be an open competition next year I'm sure.

We can't run or run block. We can't stop anyone from running it down our throat. Until we address those things its hard to get excited about anything in the near future. D-line help and O-line help would be nice.

Don't blame how bad the defense is on youth and inexperience. Florida has a young team and they are pretty dang good in my opinion. tOSU had a young D last year and they were pretty good. This whole blaming crap on youth is just that, crap.

It's a tired excuse.

Oh My God, why does every thread have to do with a coaching change...... [that sound you just heard was my body just hitting the pavement from four stories up]
