Am I just one of the few believe that big time prospects take an official visit just to get free admission to ballgames? When face value for cheap tickets are around the $80-100 range, one has to wonder. Thoughts?

Seriously? Yes, many recruits do visits mainly for the experience, but that experience is a heck of a lot more than just a free game ticket. They get carted around, treated like royalty, get free airfare and accommodations, eat free food at fantastic restaurants, visit new places, see new things, meet new people.

If someone was going to send you on an all expenses paid 3 day vacation, you'd do it too. I would.

Even if it was at Alabama?

Wouldn't you want to experience what a "business" has to offer you when multiple "companies" desire your services? The recruits want to find the best fit for them. Just as you would. You never know until you visit and experience the atmosphere and potential opportunities firsthand.

not sure this is really a secret. Also helps the schools when the stands are packed for big games rather than some OOC cupcake or an SEC team like Vandy or MSU

I'd follow the strange... prob visit ole miss, georgia, and ucla. All the while, I would be committed to UT and have volnation freak out once a week because of all the nice things i say about the campuses, staff, facilities, blah, and blah then switch my commitment like 9 times only to finally sign with UT on NSD.

My step son went on four visits, I swear all we did was eat. You do get treated like royality, catch a game (pre-game on the field which is an awesome experience). It truly is a weekend vacation. I dont blame the kids at all for taking all their visits.

I sure wish the companies I interviewed for over the years would bring me to their headquarters for an official visit and treat me like one of these recruits.

There is an abundance of strange at every college. Big school or small school, it doesn't matter. And these big-time football recruits don't have anything to worry about.

I'd probably visit Bama,FL,Lsu, and GA and try and sway all their top prospects to UT with me, while I enjoy all the free stuff their giving me. That's just me though.
