Honest question. After reading some of the replies in the thread "10 reasons why" started by fearthedouche, it had me curious. I'm not sure if they were responding to/because of the troll, or if it was their actual opinions on him.

Around Tigernation, it seems like he has gone from winning w/ Sabans players, to causing the demise of LSU football, to being exactly what the Tigers need as a head coach.

Personally, I'm sold on the guy. He's goofy as hell, and I still cringe when they put a mic in front of his mouth, but he continues to win football games. He recruits extremely well, his players seem to love playing for him, and he surrounds himself w/ talented assistants. I'm not sure what else he could do to earn any more respect, so has any of your opinions changed of him?

Do most Vol fans still view Miles as a bad/lucky coach and someone that relies on talent alone to field successful teams?

Miles is good for 2 losses a year. That's my assesment of him. Now, this year Chavis has something he hasn't had since our '98 NC season. He has 4 guys that can do it all on the line, whether it's 1st or 2nd string. That alone could help Miles get his 2nd ring. If it weren't for that, Miles can screw up a good thing and lose 2 easily. And, it still might happen. We'll see. Not just saying this either, it's what I've been saying about him since he got to LSU.

Why does his mouth move like an old asian movie when he talks? He must be a pretty decent coach. I mean he has won at a high level for the most part. He has a NC title, and he could be getting a second very soon. That's more than I have accomplished, and I am the greatest coach ever. He is crazy as hell though, and it seems to be working for him.

I think he's an extremely good coach. Luck only takes you so far. He is a winner period. I'd love to have him as my coach of my team - always entertaining.

He is by far the luckiest coach I've seen in awhile, that being said Les Miles is God's gift to college football. I honestly don't hate the man.

I don't think he is a great "x and o" coach and seems to take chances at times no one else would. He chews cud before the game. Very odd dude.

He can recruit and has shaken winning a ring with Saban's players now to having the best team in the nation along side the great Saban. Hard to argue with where he is right now. Not sure where he will be in a month but...

Good luck after Saturday.

Luckiest idiot in the world that you can't help but like. He reminds me of Will Ferrell's impression of George W. Bush.

Miles has weaknesses in his coaching abilities but he more than makes up with his charisma and personality. He's a great recruiter and an all-together lucky SOB. I've never had a problem with the Mad Hatter. You can't help but like him. He's a goof troop.

I don't know if he's a great x's and o's coach, but he'll fire a coordinator who isn't getting the job done quicker than sh** and that goes a long way. I think he's awesome.

I have a lot of family in Baton Rouge, and they were ALL ready to run Les out of town last October. They acted like he was the worst coach in the conference. Several of them even said that they would glady trade UT and take Dooley. Boy what a difference a year makes.

The funny part was that some of them were convinced that LSU was going to hire Jon Gruden to be his replacement- not kidding. Little did they know that he would never leave Tampa.

Don't think they can get Gruden from Tampa but I hear Lovie is on the plane.

As far as football goes, he is what his record says he is. And that would be pretty damn good so far. There is no other way to classify him. As a husband and father we all have no idea how he is. To question his knowledge of plays and schemes (x's and o's) is fairly stupid, unless you are a college or pro coach. Especially since LSU has been winning games. He appears to have earned his way up the ranks (as opposed to being hired from out of nowhere). I guess he has been 'lucky' to not get hit by a train or get caught in a tornado. My opinion of Les Miles is he is a winner. .

Les Miles runs a solid football program. He makes some bone-headed calls every now and then, but who doesn't? LSU fans need to realize that he is a great coach!

Very true. You should have seen the names being thrown around when everyone thought he was going to Michigan. Don't get me wrong, I feel like LSU has a lot to offer a football coach and that it is a great destination, but you would think we were offering the reigns to the Dallas Cowboys if you read the "coaching hopeful" lists.

He's a witch. There is simply no other explanation.

:eek:lol: This cracked me up.
