Roy Exum is former Sports Editor of Chattanooga News Free Press. His family sold out the paper and now he writes opinion pieces for Chattanoogan.com. Some are sports related, some political, some social...

Roy is pretty old school and used to lavish praise on Pat Dye and the Bear. Here is his take...

Thought I would share...

I appreciate you posting that. He obviously understands what's really going on. I truly hope he is right!

GO BIG ORANGE!

Yeah that reads like the work a guy who got his job from his family. I love how he just makes up his "facts".

New School: Win or get fired.

Traditional powerhouse schools that depend on donors giving millions don't champion wallowing in humiliating mediocrity for years and years while a coach tries to learn OTJ. You can bet your Krystals on that.

That's the shortest article I've ever seen from Exum. He's normally extremely long-winded--the type of guy that is a legend in his own mind. I'm convinced he writes just so he can read it over and over. His opinions re sports are the worst. He's nothing more than a troll with a face.

I tried to go get the Krystals today. If you live in Chattanooga, you saw what I saw. Lines out the door, cars lined up into the street for the drive thru. No thanks. I love Krystals, but not that much. :)

But good write up, Roy.

Heard they are moving HQ's to Atlanta? Good PR move

The CDD haters will hate this article and bash it to death just like they bash all our coaches.

It's actually a very good article and there's alot of logic in it.

My opinion is this...

IF the big boosters and AD Hart think a change might be needed they'll 1st look closely at all the financial numbers including if this season is in PROFIT and if they believe, with CDD still here, does next season appear to be in PROFIT.

AD Hart is already on the official record in the press that UT urgently needs a new dorm building for the players so you can bet the big $$$ boosters will have that on their minds as well and will be getting figures on how many Millions of $$$ rhat new dorm building will cost them.

They may all agree on 1 coach that may make the HUGE number of millions of $$$$ they'll have to invest worth the buyout of CDD IF, and only IF, they're at the point they think 1 more year won't turn things around.

If they all agree on the money then AD Hart will contact that 1 chosen coach and talk about coming to Tennessee and what the costs for him and his coaching staff will be.

If AD Hart can't lure that 1 preferred coach to Tennessee then I think CDD will be here another year to get his buyout down lower and to give AD Hart and the big boosters another year to talk with another coach or 2 they may like well enough and to see if a deal that's affordable can be made to bring that coach in after next season IF it's obvious that 1 more year isn't showing much better results from CDD and this staff.

Just my guess at what may be happening behind the scenes.

VFL...GBO!!!

Sounds like a guy who just wants to be heard and be different. I think it's pretty obvious DD is gone. It's all over his face, his tone and probably the worse kept secret in years.

The fact that some of you think this is a good article is shocking.

Someone please explain to me why an offense with so much talent is ranked 34th in the country. There is no lack of talent, just a severe lack of coaching.
